Retiro Park: Tours & Tickets

The visit to the palace was very good. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English (not to be taken for granted in Madrid). The only issue is that the Retiro park is quite far from the palace and the connection between the two was supposed to be on foot. We were blessed with beautiful weather, so for us the walk was very pleasant -- but I cannot imagine what would happen if it would be raining... It would be good to warn people on the tour description... Finally: we had booked the tapas upgrade. It turned out that we were supposed to have it between the palace visit and the park visit! So this would imply that the others (guide and one more tour participant) would have to wait for us while we would be eating. We asked that this be rescheduled so we would go to the tapas bar after the park visit. The guide arranged this. But, again, please warn people about this aspect of the tour!

Lisa was our tour guide with a great sense of safety and awareness of all of us that followed her - she was all the way very aware of our safety and guided us well throughout the tour. Her knowledge of the city is rewarding and all you can expect :) - Lisa's friendly manner is inspirational to go on an adventure:) excellent - we have met many guides over many years and she is outstanding indeed :) well done and highly recommend this Company and staff.

Dino knows a lot about the art history and the history of the area around the Prado museum and shares it in an engaging way. Skipping the entry line was almost worth the price of the ticket--it was long! I recommend the early arrival. The Prado is a BIG museum. The tour takes you to some of its highlights and gets you oriented--you can better explore the museum on your own. I recommend the tour.

Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful, especially as I fell off my bIke in the first 5 minutes. He patched me up and got me going again. His knowledge of this part of the city and general information regarding the king, politics and the local celebrations Madrid was in the midst of was informative and interesting.

We were a part of a small group and for the afternoon session we were alone with Patricia. Her knowledge of the history of the two locations was excellent and she freely answered questions about Spain in general and Spanish politics in particular. Thank you for an excellent 5 hours.
