Our guide Pierre was great and our group, a mix of travelers from the U.S. immediately clicked. it was a beautiful, sunny day. The Veuve Clicquot tour was wonderful. Our guide did a very nice job. Visiting the smaller farm was very nice too. All the champagne was delicious and the transportation van was comfortable and clean. Visiting the church and hearing about the history was very interesting. The restaurant we went to was just ok. Quaint and very french village feel to it. They didn't really have a vegetarian option so I ended up with lots of potatoes (French fries and cooked potatoes) and a cold hard boiled egg. I would have really liked to have spent a little time in Epernay also. But overall, I would recommend this tour.

Full description
On the way, hear about Reims, the city where the Kings of France were crowned, and arrive at the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Estate (visit and tasting fees included).
Pay a visit to the magnificent Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral. Explore inside the UNESCO-listed wonder on a guided tour and admire the 13th-century cathedral, with its striking Gothic architecture and beautiful stained glass windows.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
After that, take a scenic drive through the vineyards of Montagne de Reims, passing through the Grand Cru villages of Verzenay and Mailly, as your guide explains the Champagne-making process. Take a picture at the vineyards and hear about the importance of ‘terroir’ in cultivating grapes.
You will then stop at a Champagne family estate and discover a different side of the prestigious Champagne industry and how Champagne is made. Finish this fantastic program with another tasting of Champagne glasses. On return to Reims, your tour ends back at the train station at 5.45 PM.

- Please note the tour departs from the city of Reims. If you are not staying in Reims, you will have to book and pay for your own transport to get there.
- We recommend to book your tickets in advance :
- MONDAY to SATURDAY - TGV train 2709 from Paris-Est station at 8.28AM ; Arrival at Reims station at 9.14AM
- SUNDAY - TGV train 2407 from Paris-Est station at 7.58AM, Arrival at Champagne-Ardenne station at 8.38AM
- After your tour, any train from Reims station after 5.45PM.
- Please note that France Intense cannot be held responsible for any train delay or cancellation.
- PICK UP ON SUNDAY : if you are coming from Paris by train in the morning of the tour, our guide will pick you up at 9.00AM (not 9.20AM) in front of the main entrance of the Champagne-Ardenne station.
- If you are already staying in Reims on the day before the tour, the meeting point will be at the Tourist Office of the Reims train station at 9.20AM.
