1. From Reims: Exclusive Tour to Moet et Chandon & Taittinger

Explore one of the great wine-producing areas of France on a small group tour of the Champagne region. Sample the sparkling produce of this world-renowned area, such as the Champagne Taittinger, one of the last Champagne houses to be owned by the original family.  With varietals consisting of 50% pinot noir, 15% Pinot Meunier, and 35% chardonnay, the Taittinger vineyard is an unsurpassed example of a Champagne-style in which chardonnay plays such a significant role. The vineyard's production is supplemented by the contractual acquisition of grapes from independent suppliers operating the finest vineyards in the Champagne region.  En route to Épernay, travel through the Marne Valley vineyards to meet the legendary monk Dom Pérignon who produced the most expensive wines of France in the 17th century and is now buried in the church of the former Benedictine Hautvillers Abbey. Visit Épernay, often referred to as the "Capital of Champagne Wine," where the main street appears like an exhibition of luxurious mansions housing illustrious Maisons de Champagne.  Discover some of the most prestigious names, including Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouët, and Pol Roger and learn about the 100 kilometers of tunnels beneath the street. Take a break to enjoy lunch in one of several options in the city center during 1 hour of free time.  Next, take a guided tour and enjoy a tasting at the world-famous Maison de Champagne Moët & Chandon. Founded in 1743 by Claude Möet, its history is linked to famous figures such as the Marquise de Pompadour and Napoleon I. Moët & Chandon Champagne has been sold to many important historical events, including the coronation of King Edward VII, the Cannes Film Festival, and the 120th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.

What people are saying about Reims

Excellent experience, our guide Thomas is prepared and very attentive, in addition to keeping the group in synergy, he has extensive technical knowledge and a well-planned itinerary, we first went to a very famous cooperative in the region, Nicolas Faullete, where we were able to know the whole process production of champagne where we could taste some labels, after we had an incredible lunch in a beautiful hotel located in an exuberant landscape of the vineyards. In the afternoon we went to the Mercier Champagne House, where we enjoyed a tour under the immense underground cellars with tasting. Then we made a stop to enjoy the landscape of the vineyards, tasting another excellent label. We end with a visit to Reims Cathedral. During the tour, Thomas made a point of stopping at other Champagne houses like Moet Chandon for anyone who wanted to shop. Unhurried tour, very fun and informative, I recommend it!!

Adrien was a fantastic tour guide & helped to make this a fun & memorable tour. The information he shared with us made it both educational & enjoyable. We really liked the small group & we were able to bond with everyone in the group. The smaller champagne house, Michel Fagot, was super. We really liked the champagne there & enjoyed the caves. Moet & Chandon was also great. There are a lot of stairs to get to & from the caves so it is worth knowing that in case you have mobility issues. I would highly recommend this tour.

Awesome tour!! Usually we do things ourselves without a tour guide, but we only had one day and there’s no way we would be able to do so much in such a short time. We don’t regret a bit! The day was fun and our guide was super knowledgeable and entertaining!

Wonderful day in Champagne, with both small house/cooperative and large producer tours. Our tour leader, Thomas, was informative, fun and engaging. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide was incredible! We loved every moment of our time in Champagne.
