What people are saying about Red Square

Ms. Newman was impressive, knowledgeable, and caring, Excellent A+!

To whom it may concern: For the Communist Tour on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00, I encountered Ms. Tanya Newman at the St. Regis Hotel. In her initial explanation, Ms. Newman went to explain Moscow, Russian history including the monarchy, the late 19th, early 20th century, Russian revolution, Lenin, Stalin, the Soviet Union era, and the post Communist era. It was an impressive number of facts that still have an impact in Russia and around the world today. After my history lesson, Ms. Newman went to describe Lubyanskaya building and square with photographs and details. She described the history of the KGB, the statues honoring its prominent figures, the KGB's modus operandi, the number of victims, the old secrets and the lack of transparency until this day. Ms. Newman indicated that the Solovetsky Stone was one of the few monuments dedicated to the victims. After Lubyanskaya building and square, we proceeded to Red Square and entered the Lenin Mausoleum before it closed.

An excellent tour though rather pricey for what was involved

My guide, a charming Moscovite, was very well versed in the Kremlins history and made the visit into a fascinating afternoon. Though the tour was meant to be 4 hours it was nearer to three which was fine for me as we had covered everything within that time frame. I actually ended up in a one on one situation as no one else had booked for a tour in English the day I visited on 15th July. The Kremlin is well worth a visit though I had to come back the next day to visit the Armoury as it was not included in the somewhat expensive tour that I enrolled for.

It was great to see the Kremlin in this sunny day, very good tour

I am usually not very enthusiastic about the guided tour, as I like to see and enjoy the places by myself with no rush. However, this time I am so happy that Tatiana was my guide as she really helped me to understand much more about Russian history and culture. Was not boring at all as sometimes happens with guides. She gave me plenty of local insights. Recommend this tour for sure!
