Bei diesem Ausflug lernt man das alte Ägypten kennen. Die Tempel sind absolut sehenswert und wenig Touristen. Unser Führer Salim und Fahrer Hamadi führte uns mit hohem Wissen und Witz in die ägyptische Geschichte ein. Zum Schluß konnten wir sogar einige Hieroglyphen selbständig lesen. Der Ausflug ist absolut zu empfehlen, wenn man das wahre Ägypten kennenlernen will.

Der Tagesausflug von Hurghada nach Dendera und Abydos ist ohne Zweifel zu empfehlen. Die überreichen Informationen an den Tempeln beider Standorte durch den Guide haben allemal für die lange Anfahrt entschädigt. Wir haben in Dendera mit dem Hathortempel einen der besterhaltenen Tempel Ägyptens kennen gelernt und konnten die filigranen Darstellungen vor allem im Tempelteil Sethos l. im Osirium in Abydos erleben.

We were on several trips to ancient Egyptian places, but none were as strikingly beautiful as the Temples of Abydos and Dendera. It is really strange that this tour is so way down the list, as is was definitely the best we had from our holiday in Egypt. The Egyptologist astounded us with his intricate knowledge of the inscriptions and ancient Egyptian beliefs. I would also like to point out that the food we received at the restaurant was the best food I have eaten so far in Egypt. Alone the restaurant is worth traveling to Abydos. The tour is somewhat pricey, but considering what you get, it is actually a bargain. A comfortable car + excellent food + Egyptologist with a huge knowledge on Ancient Egypt + Beautiful temples combine to make a tour we definitely enjoyed. Highly recommended to those who want to really get to know about ancient Egypt and enjoy Egyptian cuisine.
