Rap Jumping is a highly advanced form of freestyle rope work. The method we use is a forward SRT rappel developed by the Australian SAS. Safety is our first priority with a 100% safety record since 1989. Founder Macka MacKail gained Certification while serving with the Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR), hence all instructors are carefully selected for ability, thoroughly trained and will personally instruct you on every jump. You are in total control of your speed of descent, but there is also a brake person as a double safety measure. Commercial operation of Rap Jumping started in 1989 with the issue of permits from the Cairns City Council in the Barron Gorge on the site known as the Hinge(Split Rock) and Macka’s Bluff, named after the “The Big Bopper”, which has 6 different jump faces. This led to the worlds first “Rap Jumping” making headlines from high rise buildings. The first of the buildings jumped was the Pacific Hotel, Cairns in 1989, and subsequently the world’s first fully commercial operation at the Gold Coast International Hotel, Surfers Paradise. Renowned for unfailing attention to safety and quality, Rap Jumping soon became the adrenalin sport of the future, and continues to thrill and astound today at the Urban Central in Melbourne. In today’s fast and action paced world, Rap Jumping has not only established itself as the ultimate team building experience, but will challenge you to face your fears and live life to the fullest.
