Amazing trip, it was so peaceful drifting through the mangroves. We got to see a variety of birds and some white faced capuchins and even got a close up of a tiger crab! We had Alexis as guide for this trip and for the Manuel Antonio tour. he made every effort to see the animals we wanted to see, including an impromptu stop to see some Scarlet Macaws. He was very patient and knowledgeable!

The Damas Island kayaking tour takes you through the natural canals and provides an ideal opportunity to observe many birds such as herons, kingfishers, ospreys, and frigates birds.This Manuel Antonio tour lasts about 2 hours, and refreshing Costa Rican meals are arranged before or after the excursion, depending on the tides.

This tour does not require prior experience. Single or double kayaks are available. Youngsters should be at least 8 years old to paddle their own kayak alone.

Our guides Daniel, Cesar, & our driver Carlos were excellent. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. The water is very tame so it is easy to paddle and there was shade through much of the kayak tour. The tour leaves according to the high tide, so even though it initially said that the tour started at 0600 am, we got an email saying that we were not actually going to be picked up until 1150 am. They took us to have a buffet lunch first and then we drove about 10 minutes to Damas island where the kayaking actually took place. We saw monkeys, iguanas, crabs, and many different types of birds.
