Joao was a wonderful tour guide. His knowledge of Portuguese history and the history of the University is incredible (the university is his Alma mater). He takes the time to answer questions you may have and you can really feel how passionate he is regarding the school and Portugal. We definitely left learning so many interesting facts and historical points. Being a private tour, he is 100% dedicated to teaching and showing you all the University and surrounding areas. Would highly recommend him for this tour.

Joao is an excellent guide. He knows the history of the University of Coimbra and, being a former student there, made the experience far more relevant. Joao did not hurry us at any point and answered all the questions we had. I would whole heartily recommend taking this tour with Joao.
