Full description

Enjoy an exclusive sightseeing tour to the very best locations in Queenstown and the South Island of New Zealand. Discover New Zealand’s magnificent fiords, native forests, and glaciers, as well as the island's stunning native bird life, seals, penguins, and dolphins.

Milford Sound is situated on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is a world-renowned area of extraordinary beauty. Milford Sound is a true fiord, which measures 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) long and is up to 1,050 feet (320 meters) deep.

The fiord receives an average yearly rainfall of approximately 300 inches (7.5 meters) because it is situated on one of the world’s most formidable coastlines, which is subject to rapidly changing weather conditions.

The weather is famous for its ability to deteriorate or improve within a very short period of time. These dramatic weather patterns result in some of nature’s most amazing scenery transformations, especially when viewed from above.

Milford Air were very professional and provided a fantastic flight and cruise package to Milford Sound. The road to Milford Sound was still closed after last weeks flooding, and we had heard that the cruise boats and cruise ship weren’t using the sound due to excessive driftwood, so we phoned them a couple of days in advance to find out the situation. They were honest and told us that, although they were flying in and out of Milford airport, the cruise boats weren’t operating, but they were reviewing the situation the day before our scheduled flight. They said to phone as normal 24 hours before the flight for an update, and if the cruise option was still not available, we could have an alternative flight or full refund. Fortunately, when we rang, everything’s no was on and the weather forecast was favourable, so we were very happy. By the following evening, we were ecstatic, as the weather couldn’t have been better and the flight and cruise were amazing.

Milford Sound was absolutely an incredible experience, we chose to fly & cruise to save on driving & time. This was by far the best decision we made during our time in New Zealand. A plane with 14 people with their own window to view such spectacular wonders. The pilot was very knowledgable, and flew us over amazing snowy mountains. The cruise just as wonderful, with stunning views & the most amazing waterfalls too.

Sensational. Great flight, pilot and cruise!

Very glad I choose to fly to Milford Sound instead of doing the whole day bus trip. Very efficient operation from pick up to drop off. No waiting around. No over energetic annoying tourism staff trying to oversell the experience. Pilot was great, providing just the right amount of information without being distracting which allowed us to soak in the amazing landscape. Cruise was also great. Beautiful waterfalls, snow capped mountains and plenty of Dolphins and seals coming out to play.
