Full description

Upon arrival at Hawes Pier, you will collect your boarding passes from the Maid of the Forth ticket office. Making your way down the pier you will board the Maid and set sail for Inchcolm, cruising underneath the iconic Forth rail bridge, a world Unseco heritage site. you will enjoy views of both the Fife and Edinburgh coastline, sailing past the Haystack seal colony and arriving at Historic Inchcolm Island. Here you will enjoy 1.5 hours to explore all the island has to offer, the Abbey*, world war fortifications, visitor centre, and gift shop. There is something for everyone to enjoy on Inchcolm. Inchcolm Abbey is currently closed for inspection works, access is still available to the east of the Island.

A wonderful trip with everything to see. We were a little late but everyone was so kind that our experience was still a lovely one. There was a lot to see and photograph and the bridges at close range were spectacular. We saw seals basking and the little Inchcolm Island was enchanting. A good value mini cruise with good-natured people in charge. Altogether well worth the money and time spent. One small point to warn others: the journey to the Queensferry start point is a good 40 minutes drive from Edinburgh. If you go by taxi it costs £25 plus, If you go by bus the time is hefty and there should be more prior warning about these if people don’t have their own car. Nevertheless, a great experience all round.
