Day 1: Iby’iwacu Cultural Experience & a Guided Nature Walk Around Volcanoes National Park Morning drive you to Volcanoes Nat Park. Start by enjoying a complimentary Kigali city tour before traveling to northern Rwanda. After a 2-hour drive from Kigali to Ruhengeri/Musanze, we will visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Experience in Kinigi. We’ll then be treated to a guided nature walk around Volcanoes National Park. Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda We will start the day with a golden monkey trekking adventure in Volcanoes Nat Park. This primate is native to the high-altitude forests of the park. Once we have seen their playful interactions, we will head out of the park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The transfer to Bwindi National Park will go through the Rwanda-Uganda border at Cyanika. Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Adventure at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Today is another day for trekking into the wilderness to spot the rare local animals. You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. You will then embark on your tracking adventure, making your way through the rainforest until you find a family of mountain gorillas. The gorilla trek can take from 3 to 6 hours on average, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. It could last longer, so be prepared just in case! Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Nat Park via Ishasha Sector to Spot Tree-Climbing Lions We will start the journey in the morning from Bwindi Nat Park and drive to Queen Elizabeth Nat Park. We’ll arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park in the late afternoon. Our first activity will be to drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, popularly known for the tree-climbing lions. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is worth a visit! Day 5: Kasenyi Plains Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Trip Early breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, we will proceed to the famed Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various species of wild animals. Expect to encounter the big five. We will return to the lodge for lunch and a quick break before joining the Kazinga Channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. We’ll have the chance to spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters. Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience at Kalinzu Forest & Return to Kigali Early morning breakfast followed by a drive to the Kalinzu Forest to experience tracking the chimpanzees in their forest home. If you are lucky on the trek, you might encounter some of the other different species of monkeys in the forest. These include colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys. Once we have finished our last trekking adventure, it is time to return to Kigali.

Explore the vast biodiversity of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Discover landscapes including savannah, bushland, wetlands and lush forests. Start with pickup from your accommodation and make your way to the park which covers 1,978 square kilometres and is one of the most popular nature reserves on the African continent.  Embark on a game drive with your guide and try to spot the 96 species of mammals, including healthy numbers of hippos, elephants, lions, leopards, chimps, and hyenas. Make your way to the remote Ishasha sector in the far south of the park, which is famous for its tree-climbing lions. See female lions who enjoy spending the long, hot afternoons snoozing photogenically in the fig trees. After the game drive you will be dropped off back to your accommodation. Please note, we only accept camps within the Park, if you stay in Kasese or outside the park we will charge you a fee depending on where you want to be picked.

After pickup from your Kampala accommodation, enjoy a hearty breakfast to set you up for the adventure. Then, travel for 5-6 hours towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping at the Kazinga Channel for a rest stop along the way.  Arrive at the park in the afternoon and head off on a scenic boat cruise. Look out for the array of wildlife, including buffalo, hippopotamus, elephants, and more. From the boat, admire the rolling grasslands, then pass by the plains of Kasenyi, where lions stalk their prey. After the cruise, enjoy dinner and a good night’s sleep at your Bush lodge or Engiri Game Lodge. Wake up on day two with a tasty breakfast, then embark on a morning game drive through Kasenyi. On the drive, encounter an array of big and small game. Later, check out of the lodge and enjoy an optional walk through the park in search of primates i.e Chimpanzees, (Please note there is a permit fee which can be arranged with your Driver currently $70) before beginning the return journey.  On your way back to Kampala, stop for lunch at the Mpambire Drum Center, where you can see drums being made by the locals and shop for souvenirs.

End the night off with a delicious dinner. Day 2: The next day, head off to the North East region of Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kalinzu forest section where you will begin your chimpanzee trekking for the day. Spend the morning walking through the jungle with your guide learning about the diverse ecosystem and spending time with the amazing chimpanzees. After lunch, begin your journey back to Kampala where the tour concludes.

The drive to Bwindi is about 180km and it takes about 3 hours, you will arrive at the lodge at Bwindi impenetrable national park in the afternoon for your lunch and a rest for the next day gorilla trekking. Accommodation: budget; Broad bill forest camp Day 4 Gorilla trekking at Bwindi national park Today you will set off early after breakfast to the park headquarters, where you will register for your gorilla trek. Once you've been assigned a group you will follow your guide into Bwindi National Park. You start your trek by walking for about four hours before you reach the gorillas. Once you find the first gorilla, you have an hour with them. The hills can be strenuous, but the exhilaration of seeing the gorillas makes it all worthwhile. After the trek, you drive to lake Bunyonyi where you will spend the night. The journey is about 71km, taking about 2hours. Day 1 Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, then be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Kampala. Enjoy a city walking tour if you arrive before 12:00 PM local time, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included on your first day. Day 2 Depart for your first destination, the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Afterward, head to Murchison Falls National Park. Hike to the top of Murchison Falls followed by dinner and an overnight stay at a 3-star safari lodge. Day 3 After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive. Spot 4 of the Big Five game species, lion, water buffalo, leopard, and elephants. Itinerary: Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park Our guide/driver picks you at 7:00 a.m. from your hotel. Drive to Mbarara (268km from Kampala) via Masaka. Make the first stopover at the Equator crossing for photography. Lunch break is made at Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth N.P is located in south western Uganda and it’s the second largest park in the country after Murchison falls national park and located at the base of majestic, next to lake Edward and lake George which are joined by the Kazinga Channel. This park has 5000 hippos, 2500 Elephants and over 10,000 Buffaloes thriving in its grassland. You will do afternoon game drive looking for tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector of the park. (Approximately 7-8 hours’ drive). Day 2: Game Drive and Boat trip in Queen Elizabeth N.P After Breakfast, you will do the dawn morning game drive. The morning is the best time for a game drive as the African Animal Kingdom tends to be most active during the golden hours of first sunlight touching the Savanah. You will see Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Waterbuck, Leopards, Uganda Kobs, warthog, Birds, and primates. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes Edward and George, here you will see large numbers of hippos more than you can possibly imagine as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. On reaching Queen it will be early enough to rest, have lunch and later go for a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake George to Lake Edward. The drive is basically sightseeing with very spectacular view of the breathtaking scenery in and around Queen. There is also plenty of wildlife to see along the drive although commonest are sights of Cape Buffaloes plus Elephants. Return to the accommodation for relaxation, dinner and the overnight stay. With a strenuous day ahead, you will do less on arrival but just check-in your accommodation, relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the following day.
