What people are saying about Puntarenas

This tour is very worth it, we went by bus which made the journey more comfortable, then we took a speedboat, the trip was very peaceful, the return not so much, but the problem is not the transport, but the weather conditions. Before taking the boat we had a coffee, simple but well served and the staff is super kind. There was even an alligator/🐊 that was the attraction. Arriving on the island, it is so beautiful, the water is warm, without waves 🌊, it looks like a swimming pool. There is a trail from which you have a wonderful view of the Sea. We stayed there for a long time, we enjoyed it a lot, just the lunch was not very good, but you can understand, the Island has no infrastructure, which makes it more charming.

My friend and I had a great time on this tour!! Alberto was a good guide, and the driver Raul was lovely. This was my first time snorkeling so I was a bit nervous but I ended up loving it. The island itself was beautiful, and the tour provided watermelon & pineapple as a snack before lunch. Joel is a fantastic chef (with a beautiful singing voice) and very friendly! Chatting with him was honestly a highlight of the tour. Would definitely recommend!

The tour is very good, they initially take you to a restaurant so you can have a comfortable breakfast and buy souvenirs if desired, then they go to Puntarenas to take you by boat to the island, the island is very beautiful. In the morning there are not so many people but at lunch time there are quite a few tourists. The very attentive guide explained to us in detail every aspect of the country.

Good trip! Nice guides, chill and good info given: the only bit I didn’t like was that we get picked up so early and we didn’t leave San Jose for another hour after getting picked up driving round picking people up on a non-efficient route. Getting up at 4 am is difficult and then to arrive at the island at 10 is kind of ridiculous given its only really 1.5 hour journey (2 with traffic)

Being able to see wildlife in freedom on the island, the boat tour and the treatment of the guide Percy was the best
