Full description
Enjoy a morning exploring the Puntarenas region and discover all it has to offer. Walk above the treetops during an exciting rainforest skywalk with hanging bridges before embarking on a boat tour on the Tarcoles River, home to a substantial crocodile population. Take a tour of the city and learn about the region all through your tour.
Get picked up from the Puntarenas cruise terminal and head to Villa Lapas Reserve & Eco Hotel, which is about a 1-hour drive from the pier.
Experience the beauty of the rainforest as you make your way along the 1.5 miles (2.5 km) long skyway walking tour that takes you across five 300-feet long suspended bridges at more than 180 feet above the ground. Keep your eyes open to spot the numerous bird species, mammals, and other varied fauna that call this forest home. The nature walk lasts about 1-hour and it includes some areas with some steeps, uneven terrain, and ups and downs.
Enjoy complimentary tropical fresh fruits and ice tea before continuing the journey to Tarcoles River. The river is home to one of the world’s largest crocodile populations in the wild, and they are very easy to admire during your 1-hour boat cruise. Besides crocodiles, many aquatic bird species, monkeys, and scarlet macaws are easy to see.
Next, visit El Jardin Souvenir Store & Restaurant, where you will have free time to peruse the store and pick up some local products as well as have lunch at the restaurant (lunch is not included in the tour).
Tour Puntarenas City, the largest city in the Central Pacific, and see the lively Paseo de los Turistas, a tree-lined promenade adjacent to the beach. See beautiful and unusual buildings and colorful streets in different neighborhoods as well as an old church.
After your city tour, you are dropped off at the cruise terminal.
