Full description
Discover Isla Saona, a Caribbean oasis off the southern coast of the Dominican Republic. Find out how, originally named Adamanay by the Taino Indians, the island was renamed by Christopher Columbus, during his second voyage to the Americas in 1494.  Begin the tour by boarding a speedboat and jetting off to Saona Island. On the way, stop to swim in a waist-deep natural swimming pool with transparent waters. If you're lucky you'll see some starfish. When you arrive at Isla Saona, you'll have many activites to choose from. Wade in the turquoise waters, visit the open bar, take a nap on a beach lounge chair, walk along the coastline, or play volleyball. Indulge in a typical Dominican lunch of chicken, pork, rice, beans, salad, and fruit. Take your time to discover the island and do it all.

We were picked up on time. We then went to the destination to board the bus. There were bathrooms there. We then got on the bus. Our tour guide gave us some history about the area. We went to a shop where there were more bathrooms and food. Bring money. You can buy cute items authentically made. We then went to the stop to get on the speed boat. Very fun. Stopped at natural swimming pool and then went to Saona. Had lunch and spent time there. The time feels too short. Beautiful island and water. Worth the money. Took party boat back. Had an awesome time. Then got on bus to minivan to hotel.

Ground transportation: grade 3. The bus was quite old. A/C was not working but the worst was that it was dripping water all over the place. Not only on me, but in several others as wells. As the bus was full there was no way to run from it. Solution was to cover ourselves with beach towels that got completely soak in no time. Guide: grade 10. Benjamin is very friendly. Everywhere we went you could tell that he is recognized by his peers and other guides. He knows his business and is very efficient to guide us and explain what to do next. Food and beverages: grade 10. Food was simple but delicious. Rice, Pasta with sea food, chicken, pork, salad and fruits. As a recommendation I would suggest to do the pasta without seafood for those who can’t eat it. Sea transportation: grade 10. Both the speed boat but specially the catamaran were great experiences. In the catamaran the dancing and the musics were specially great. Overall grade:7,5 (if you fix the bus, it would be a big 10)

A very pleasant experience starting with the good price, passing through the support and guidance via WhatsApp by Carol from Tripadvisor and simultaneously by the Get Your Trip staff. The punctuality and sympathy of Mr.Sosa who picked us up at the Hotel. The contagious joy of Mr. Benjamim (guide) who animated the bus trip to Bayahibe. And your beautiful lesson on local geography on board to Saona Island. Well... then we had me (and my Lili)... THE BIGGEST SURPRISE EVER... We were terrified of lunch on the island... When it wasn't our surprise that the food was DIVINAL... from the meats , salads and the best of all THE BEST POTATO MAYONNAISE WE EVER EAT TODAY. (In addition to everything served on aluminum trays with the food protected by cling film). THANK YOU ALL
