This ecological stop will begin with a short walk through the plantations, where the vegetation is so abundant that the sunlight can barely penetrate. The guides will teach you about the history, culture and the fabrication process of numerous products. The tour itself was really interesting, but we had to wait over an hour to pick it up (you already thought the tour was no longer taking place). You could have a short look at a school (if you want you can bring something for the children there, such as pens, pads, glue, etc.), but you couldn't drive a boogie board as described or look at the butterfly farm , Nevertheless it was all in all a successful trip.

Great experience!

Great opportunity to explore Dominican countryside and see what life is like outside resorts. Visited Macao Beach, where local vendors sell their wares. Then visited organic cacao and coffee plantation, where we saw how cacao and coffee beans are fresh roasted. Also saw how coconut oil and cigars are made. Opportunity to taste coffee, chocolate tea, hot cocoa, Mama Juana (local wine/rum drink) and sugar cane.
