Awesome day, we saw lots of whales and sea lions, as well as cormorans, pelicans and a small flock of penguins swimming. We also saw the glaciers and got fairly close. We got lucky to have a beautiful day, sunny with no wind, which obviously helped as well. I really enjoyed that we spent a lot of time at every location, really giving us time to enjoy everything. Great tour!

Full description

Cape Froward, one of the most southern points on the planet, is home to many glaciers, humpback whales, Sei whales, Piebald dolphins, Commerson’s dolphins, and the Magellan Penguin. All of these creatures help form part of the natural wonder of the Austral region of the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego Island. As you tour one of the most remote and pristine places on the planet, this full-day journey will help you grasp the sheer magnitude of nature at its fullest. Starting early in the morning, you will go by bus to your boarding place, located 50 kilometers south of Punta Arenas. It will be from this area that you will sail for about 10 hours. This is sure to be an incredible adventure in which you will witness a unique landscape surrounded by mountains, glaciers, Lenga, and Coihue forests. In addition, marine fauna will amaze you by its proximity and sheer abundance. You will encounter sea lions, petrels, cormorants, and austral dolphins, among others.

Kia ora from New Zealand. We had the most magnificent day. Yes, it’s expensive, but honestly worth every penny. We saw pods and pods of humpback whales, cheeky sea lions, seals, condors etc. The glacier was simply extraordinary and the boat got so close! We very much enjoyed a chunk of glacier ice in our whisky and pisco sour. Our tour lasted longer than anticipated (which was a huge positive) as the guides and captain maximised whale watching opportunities - including a whale breach!!! Incredible. WARNING: do be mindful of how rough the early morning boat ride is out to the whales. About 1/3 of passengers were seasick and vomiting badly. The staff were so lovely and well prepared with spew bags. Best to come prepared with tablets if you are worried - don’t let it put you off, everyone still had an amazing time. The boat ride back in the afternoon was smooth sailing.
