3. From La Paz: Titicaca, Copacabana, and Isla del Sol Day-Trip

Depart from La Paz on a fully guided day-trip that sails on Titicaca Lake and visits Copacabana and Yumani as well as Isla del Sol. Enjoy a tasty lunch and discover the famous Inca Steps and the Inca Fountain. Leave La Paz at around 7 am and after approximately 3 hours you will arrive at Tiquina, the narrowest part of the Lake Titicaca. Cross to the other side by boat and continue the trip on a 30-minute bus ride to the town of Copacabana. Once there, have lunch and then head towards the shore to catch a boat to the Isla del Sol, where you will see the Inca steps and the Inca fountain, also known as the youth fountain.  This Inca fountain represents the 3 pillars of the Aymara Culture, Ama Sua, Ama Llulla, and Ama Quella, which mean, you shall not steal, shall not lie, and shall not be lazy. Afterward, visit the town of Yumani and then start heading back to the port to catch the boat back to Copacabana. Once in Copacabana, explore the church, main square, and the crafts market. By 6 PM you will catch the bus back to La Paz, where you should arrive back in the city by 10 PM.

Enjoy early morning pickup at your hotel or accommodation in Arequipa, from where you will travel to the incredible Colca Canyon. After arriving to this natural habitat of the giant Andean condor, you will begin your all-day tour of this incredible area. Stop for breakfast in the charming town of Chivay and travel through the Andes villages before reaching the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. Once there, walk to the viewpoint and see the views of the surrounding landscape. You’ll be picked up at your Puno accommodation at the beginning of this full-day excursion to Lake Titicaca. An English-speaking guide will accompany you as you travel to the lake’s islands of Uros and Taquille. Uros is a group of islands whose buildings are made entirely of tortora reeds. It is home to a small community that dates back to pre-Inca times. Spend some time with the local residents before continuing on to Taquile – an island whose culture is more closely related to that of the Aymara people of Bolivia. You’ll enjoy a locally prepared lunch on the island before visiting the local cooperative and seeing first-hand the skill of the local weavers. 7. From La Paz: Huayna Potosí 2-Day Climbing Trip

Day 1: La Paz - Paso Zongo - High Camp Drive for around 1.5 hours from La Paz to Paso Zongo, going up from 3,600 to 4,700 meters. Once at Paso Zongo, have lunch in one of the refuges before starting the 3 to 4-hour trek up to high camp. Walk up on a well-used path on rock to high camp, which sits on a rock buttress at the base of the glacier, at an altitude of 5150 meters. Get your gear ready for the early start the next morning. You will also have time to rest, eat dinner, and rehydrate. Turn in for an early night in the refugio. Day 2: High Camp - Summit - High camp - La Paz Get up early for a long day of adventure with 9-13 hours of climbing. Wrapped up warm, equipped for climbing, and with your crampons on, you’re ready to go.  Follow a trail on the glacier and conquer two steep sections. You will first encounter one at around 5,600 meters, called the Pala Chica. Here the trail goes through a small ice and snow wall (about 10 meters high). After this part, keep following the trail on the glacier up to 6,000 meters. From here you will see the summit (6,088 meters). Experience the thrill of climbing along the last section to the summit on an exposed ridge. At the summit, you will be able to see from Illimani (6,439 meters) in the south to Illampu (6,368 meters) in the north. After your photoshoot on top, head back down the same way to High Camp. Have a short rest and pack your gear. Then, head back down to base camp to meet your transportation for an approximately 1-hour drive back to La Paz. Get dropped back off at the original meeting point in La Paz.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco between 6:25AM to 6:45AM, at which point you should be ready and waiting at the door of your hotel or reception. From there, the first stop will be to the Sistine Chapel of America, Andahuaylillas. Following the chapel you'll head to the archaeological center of Raqchi, where you will have the opportunity to take photos. 10. From Puno to La Paz: Copacabana and Isla del Sol Boat Tour

Get picked up from your hotel in Puno at 6:30 AM for a quick transfer to the city bus station. Travel by road alongside Lake Titicaca towards the Bolivian side of the border until your reach Copacabana, admiring stunning shoreline views over quintessential Altiplano landscapes.  Make a brief visit to the beautiful Sanctuary of the Virgin of Copacabana before boarding a catamaran to begin your cruise to Sun Island, the cradle of the Inca Empire. Once at this legendary island, visit the Inca palace at Pilko Kaina, followed by the Inca Garden located on top of the Island. Continue to explore Inti Wata Cultural Complex, the main private tourist attraction in Bolivia, that includes the underground Museum of Ekako, various centers of traditional medicine, Titikaka Reed Shipbuilders display centers, the Pachamama Agricultural Inca Terraces, a craft center, the Intica lounge, and a vast array of Andean camelids in the Manco Capac lookout. While at the complex, you can take an optional sailing experience on a huge traditional Titicaca vessel and admire panoramic views of the Pilko Kaina Inca palace. Afterwards, board the catamaran once more and continue on to Copacabana while enjoying the majestic panorama of Lake Titicaca. Finally, board the bus and get dropped off in La Paz at around 7:30 PM.

Ich war von diesem Tour sehr gut überrascht. Super Organisation und Erklärungen vom Guides. Ich war ein bisschen skeptisch weil ich viele Kommentare darüber gelesen habe, dass es sehr turistisch geworden ist und nicht mehr so autentisch. Ich muss zustimmen aber es gibt ein Grund warum es so ist. Das war eine der interessantesten Erlebnisse für mich in Peru und wurde jedem empfehlen. Mir geht´s nicht darum ob sich die Einwohnern für die Turisten bekleiden, sondern wie sie dort leben und diese schwimmende Inseln bauen. Und ein Tip.. die Armbänder die man in Taquile zu verkaufen findet gibt es wirklich nur dort. Ich dachte es gäbe noch in Cuzco, aber gar nicht. Und die sind wirklich die schönste und autentischste. Schade, hätte ich das vorher gewusst.

This transfer/day trip was great. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone transferring from Cusco to Puno. The bus was extremely comfortable. The stops interesting and just the right length. A definite 10 out of 10!
