Next, take the boat out to the Uros Islands for a guided tour of the famous floating reed islands. Cruise the highest navigable lake in the world out to the remote Island of Amantani. Enjoy a guided tour of Amantani island. Learn the traditional history, lifestyle, and cultures of the island community. Around 12:30 pm, take the boat across to the Llachon Peninsula. Lunch in the shore-side village of Llachon. Witness the seasonal activities of this rural community and enjoy some free time in one of the most picturesque hideaways on Lake Titicaca. In Puno, enjoy some free to explore the city or go for dinner at one of the many restaurants before boarding your overnight bus back to Cusco, at 9:30 pm, from our partner hostel. Day 3 Get dropped off at your hotel or hostel in Cusco in the morning.

Enjoy a boat trip on Lake Titicaca and visit the floating islands of Uros. The inhabitants of the lake are referred to as the Water Tribe and have built their own islands with a local type of sugarcane. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. The next stop is Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua speakers who have developed unique and effective social systems and hand-weaving techniques. Stop for a typical lunch in the village of Taquile. Take a walk through the hills and archaeological sites of this 6-kilometer-long island before returning to Puno by boat.

Day 1: Early in the morning, we will pick you up at the hotel located in the city of Puno to go to the port lake, and take the regular boat to start the excursion visiting the Uros Floating Islands. These beautiful islands, handmade by the man, are made with totora reed and there are about 80 islands of this material around. The islands of Uros are built by weaving the totora reed and also, they build their houses with the same material and cook outdoors to avoid fires. You will meet the friendly Uros people, their customs and lifestyle. The Titicaca tour continues taking a boat ride towards Amantani Island, sailing the extensive Lake Titicaca considered the highest navigable lake in the world with an altitude of 3,812 meters above sea level, and it is the second largest lake in South America. Upon arrival, the friendly community will welcome us. There are in total 800 families and this mystical island has important ceremonial centers and shamans who see the future through coca leaves. We will have lunch with the local people to learn more about their lifestyle. Then we will ascend to Pacha Tata (4,100 meters above sea level), where is located the most important mystical ceremonial center of the Lake Titicaca, to see the beautiful sunset. Enjoy a lovely dinner with the local people, and if you wish, then you can participate in traditional activities with them. You will spend the night in a cozy family house. Day 2: After a traditional Andean breakfast, we will embark on the boat to visit Taquile Island, located 28 miles from Amantaní Island. Taquile has an altitude of 3,950 meters above sea level, however, the highest point reaches 4,050 meters. On this island, you will enjoy spectacular Lake views, as well as its landscapes surrounded by Andes mountains and an amazing blue sky. Here you will admire wonderful flora such as the Cantuta flower, and the medicinal plant Muña with healing properties, most used in infusions. The fauna is from farm animals such as cows, rams, chickens, among others. We will appreciate a special show of the local community with dances, music and a photo session with traditional costumes, while you are enjoying lunch. The Taquile island is well known because of its talented people. The textile art is really impressive with ancient and organic techniques, like the use of natural dyeing from vegetables. At the end, we will take the boat back towards the port lake of the city of Puno. Then, we are going to drop you off at your hotel.

Enjoy a pickup in the morning to travel to the main port of the city of Puno. Go onboard the boar our boat to start this Uros and Taquile Islands tour. Your first stop will be the Uros floating islands, where the guide and the locals themselves will tell the group about the way of life on Lake Titicaca. After taking pictures and seeing some craftsmanship fairs, you will get back on the boat to set off on the trip to Taquile Island.  Walk around the island in Taquile and talk with the inhabitants. Admire their textile work that is very well-known in the region. See the terraces that are still being preserved. Take your time to rest and settle into your cozy accommodations. In the afternoon, we'll ascend to the island's summit, where you'll marvel at the ancient ceremonial Inca temples of Pachamama and Pachatata. Spend the day discovering the natural and cultural heritage of Lake Titicaca. Tour the islands by boat before stopping off at Taquile to meet the locals and enjoy a traditional lunch on the lake.  The adventure starts with hotel pick up from central Puno at 7:00 AM. Drive to the shores of the lake before hopping in a boat for the 1.5-hour journey to Taquile. Ride in comfort on a fast boat with an experienced guide. Restrooms are available onboard and along the way you'll enjoy stunning views of the lake. Upon arrival at Taquile, enjoy a 1-hour walk around the island. Stop by a village to see a cultural demonstration by the locals and learn the art of Taquile textile making which was recognized by UNESCO for its intangible heritage. At 12:00 PM, a lunch of quinoa soup, fresh fish, and vegetables will be served.
