1. Stavanger: Waterfalls, Rocks and Caves Sightseeing Cruise

Experience the Norwegian fjords throughout a scenic sightseeing cruise from Stavanger. Enjoy nature in all its glory from the comfort of a boat, passing by stunning sights such as the Lysefjord and the Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen). Discover the mysterious Vagabond's Cave, a gorgeous cove where dramatic cliffs surround an aqua-marine pool. As legend has it, the cave was named after a group of vagabonds who hid in the shelter for months trying to escape police. Then, head to Pulpit Rock, a natural rock formation consisting of a steep cliff that rises 1,981 feet above Lysefjorden, opposite the Kjerag plateau, with an almost flat top of approximately 80 meters across. Next, see the towering waterfalls, idyllic islands, and breathtaking scenery of the Lysefjord. Also, visit wild goats at a summer pasture, and taste clear mountain water from the Hengjane Falls.

3. From Stavanger: Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) Guided Hike

Hike one of Norway’s most spectacular walking trails just a few hours from Stavanger, and get stunning views from the top of Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) above the Lysefjorden fjord. Reach the edge of the near-vertical cliff and test your nerves of steel as you stand or sit close to the edge above crystal-clear waters. Enjoy a light snack as you take in the unobstructed views over a fjord formed by glaciers during the last Ice Age. Reconnect with the wilderness on the 4 to 6-hour trek using well marked and easy to follow paths. Face the challenge of rocks that may become slippery in more demanding areas before you reach the unparalleled views.

Stavanger: Guided Winter Hike Pulpit Rock Preikestolen

4. Stavanger: Guided Winter Hike Pulpit Rock Preikestolen

After being picked up from your accommodation at 7:15 AM, head to the Stavanger or Lauvvik ferry station, and take the ferry across the fjord. From the other side, it is a short drive to Preikestolen Lodge, the starting point for the hike. The hike up will take you between 2 and 3 hours. Once at Pulpit Rock, spend some time enjoying the views of beautiful natural scenery and take some photos. Enjoy your packed lunch, beverages, and some snacks here. The hike back will likely also take 2 to 3 hours, and you can expect to arrive back in Stavanger around 3-4 PM. The distance covered is approximately 4 km each way and the level is easy to moderate. Depending on weather, snow, and ice conditions, the trail may become slippery in some of the more demanding areas. The supplier provides crampons if the conditions requiers it. Some hiking experience is desirable, but not mandatory. Hikers should be prepared with clothes and shoes for cold weather. Hiking boots are required on this hike, and can be rented when booking. Other suggestions include warm, windproof, and waterproof clothing. Bring some water with you to keep hydrated, preferably in a container you can refill on the trail. Norwegian mountains are full of crystal clear, clean, and very tasty water sources. Lunch will not be provided, but please bring your own snack. Each hiker is responsible for carrying his/her own gear, so a suitable backpack is recommended.

From the water you feel insignificant between these rocks. Beautiful landscapes, beautiful rocks. The Preikestolen seen from the boat was a bit disappointing, was smaller than I expected.

The most amazing experience. I will always remember that. Norway is a very beautiful country and we were lucky with the weather.

This was so beautiful and worth the trek there! Definitely a moderate hike. Bring water and snacks, and expect crowds
