Full description
Enjoy an unforgettable adventure at the waterfalls of Damajagua in the Dominican Republic, located at the confluence of emerald waters, deep in a tropical rainforest of the Cordillera Septentrional. 27 refreshing waterfalls have been chiseled by Mother Nature’s celestial mallet. Ideal for visitors who like to commune with nature, while experiencing an adrenaline-fuelled day, you will hop on the back of a safari-style truck, where a team of experienced guides and drivers await. Note that only 12 of the 27 waterfalls will be visited, since doing the 27 waterfalls would take greater physical preparation. After a short safety briefing, glide across the natural water springs, bathing in heavenly caves. Flanked by the whistling of exotic birdlife, and the banks of the Damajagua River, the rustling of the streams arouse a state of stillness. A labyrinth of tunnels and chutes are scattered around the waterfalls, some reaching heights of up to 13 feet. Somersault with the grace of aquatic birds, as your guide keep a watchful eye. Walk an interpretative rainforest trail to come face-to-face with Mother Earth, and wildlife waits to be greeted. Leap headfirst, swimming crossways, and sliding down natural waterslides. Explore unpredictable falls, with teasing names like “La Virgen” and “La Tinajita.” “La Virgen” holds Taino legends, where the aborigines built a statue of pebbles that paid homage to the Virgin of Altagracia, perhaps becoming the first worshippers of the Patron Saint of the Dominican people. After a typical buffet-style lunch, head towards the small town of Imbert and visit a local market where you can purchase artisan products and crafts bearing a distinct Dominican hallmark.

The activity itself was very well organized and the guide / animator was more than excellent! Well done!! The course offers thrilling challenges! The only problem when booking online is that the suggested hotel pick-up time is unrealistic. When I booked, it was indicated that we would be picked up between 6:45 am and 7:30 am in the morning when in reality it was 8 am. Also, when we went to pick up other participants from other hotels in Puerto Plata, we really wasted a lot of time waiting for them as their pick up time was scheduled for 9am when we were already on. the place from 8:20 am This is in my opinion a big aspect that the company should review and correct because there was a lot of frustration on both sides.

Great fun for fit people with a little adrenaline rush. Photos too expensive

Pick up from the hotel worked on time. Were a small group of 14 people. Guide should speak German, but was difficult to understand. It was better in English. First, about a 35-minute drive to the waterfalls through unfortunately totally overcrowded surroundings (but the organizer cannot help here). Equipment and support on site were very good. However, you should be reasonably fit, as you first have to "hike" to the waterfalls for around 40 minutes. For us there was the possibility to jump at 2 waterfalls (from approx. 3m and approx. 8m height), alternatively these could be avoided. To do this, we slid down three times smaller cases and were driven, swam or waded through the shallows. At the end there was a buffet (with salad, paella, and two kinds of meat). Nothing special, but completely ok. We found the photos taken during the tour expensive. These could only be bought in a package for € 45.

Great adventure! Our guide Dan Marino was great!!!! He kept everyone laughing and on course. If you are afraid of heights they do have options so you do not have to jump. Do not wear cotton shorts because you will not slide as well. We were a group of 14 with all ages and sizes and we all made it through and loved it. Lots of hi king so be ready. So very beautiful!!
