For this adventure you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco at 6:30 hrs. to be transferred to the bus station in Cusco from where the trip to the city of Puno will begin. During the route, several stops will be made to see different archaeological monuments until reaching Puno accompanied by the tour guide. The first stop will be at the Sistine Chapel of Andahuaylillas, which dates back to the 17th century, also known as the Sistine of the Andes for the beauty of its murals and the Cusco paintings that it houses inside. Then you will visit the Raqchi Archaeological Complex, also known as the Temple of the god Wiracocha, who was the supreme Inca deity. At noon, you will have a buffet lunch in a tourist restaurant that consists of a wide range of national and regional food. Later, you will arrive at Paso de la Raya, which is the border between the cities of Cusco and Puno where the famous Nevado de Chimboya is located, where you will have the opportunity to take photographs of the landscape, the visit will last 7 to 10 minutes. The next stop will be the Lithical Museum of Pucará, it was a culture that developed in the 1,600s BC. until 400 AD. During your visit to the museum you will be able to find ceramics and sculptures that represent zoomorphic figures, among them the famous sculpture of Hatun Aqac, which in our times would be translated as the supreme cutthroat. Finally we will arrive in the city of Puno at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Enjoy a 1-day transfer on a comfortable, modern bus from Puno to Cusco. Take stops along the way to see highlights of the region. Start with pickup from Puno and first travel to the Pukara Museum for a guided visit. Then, travel over the La Raya Pass at 4335 meters in altitude. Stop in Sicuani for a tasty buffet lunch. After lunch, visit Raqchi, also known as the Temple of Wiracocha, the important Incan leader. Afterwards, take a short guided tour of Checacupe district. Finally, make a stop at Andahuaylillas known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”. Finally, arrive in Cusco in the late afternoon.

At 11:00 am, we will stop at Abra La Raya (La Raya), the watershed that splits the regions of Puno and Cusco, right at the border of both. We’ll enjoy an amazing view of the regions and the Andes mountains that surround us. At 11:35 am, we will stop for our lunch break, traditional Andean food, beef, chicken, and fish options, varied side dishes, warm and raw salads, desserts and herbal infusions. At 1:00 pm, we arrive in Raqchi, an archaeological site with a myriad of Inca ruins and ranked as one of the “Best Tourism Villages”. Here we’ll visit the Inca Temple of Wiracocha, the most important structure in the Raqchi complex and one of the biggest surviving Incan constructions. According to ancient writings, the temple was built by an Inca emperor in honor of the invisible Superior God of the Andean people. The impressive 15-meter-high walls combined with the remaining ruins and deep history/culture make for a unique visit. At 3:30 pm, we will visit the beautiful Church of Saint Peter the Apostle in Andahuaylillas, also known as the “Sistine Chapel of America”. Built by the Jesuits in the 16th century, and like many other Spanish and religious constructions of the time, it was built atop a sacred Inca site. A unique and small church, made of adobe and brick which looks simple on the outside but with a jaw-dropping interior full of gold, paintings, and more astonishing decorations. At 5:30 pm, we arrive in Cusco at the bus terminal, located Av. Alameda Pachacuteq 499-B.

Take part in a cultural demonstration to gain a deeper understanding of the local Taquile culture. Follow your guide on a walking tour of the island. Have a lunch of fresh fried fish and quinoa cream at a local restaurant. Return to your hotel in Puno to rest or spend some free time exploring the area. Leave for Cusco at 9:30 PM and travel overnight to reach your accommodation in Cusco in the morning.

Day 2: visit to Titicaca lake, Uros and Taquile islands To begin the tour you will be picked up from the bus station or hotel in Puno (06:30 am), and then transferred to the port of Puno where Lake Titicaca is located, the highest navigable lake in the world. At this point you will board a boat to first visit the Floating Island of Los Uros which are made of reeds, here the guide will give an explanation about the history of the island and its economic system, and will also appreciate the customs of this island and its crafts. Then you will go by water transport to the Island of Taquile, which has great landscape, ethnic, cultural and archaeological value; Here you can also observe the customs of the population that remain intact even over the years. The men of this island stand out for carrying out the textile activity, which they do with such perfection that they are even impervious to water and have been knowledge that has been transmitted from generation to generation.
