Oxapampa

Itinerary We will pick you up at your hotel in Oxapampa at 8:00 a.m. to head towards Villa Rica, the capital of the Coffee Route. Did you know that its green coffee beans are protected designation of origin? Before arriving in Villa Rica, we will make a stop at the Sho'llet forest, a conservation area that protects this peculiar ecosystem known as cloud forest. Afterwards, we will enter the historic center of Villa Rica and take a tour of its main square and its famous giant coffee pot, which represents the coffee tradition of the region. Then we will go to El León waterfall, where we will take the opportunity to take a dip before continuing the tour. We will go up to the Cumbre viewpoint to appreciate a beautiful view of the city surrounded by the jungle and, after a break for lunch on your own, we will visit the Santa Rosa farm. In this hacienda we will learn the secrets of organic coffee cultivation and you will be able to taste a steaming cup of Villarica coffee. In the afternoon, we will go to El Oconal lagoon and take a boat ride admiring the beautiful landscape and biodiversity of this water reserve. Afterwards, we will enjoy a session of ichthyotherapy, a natural treatment that will free you from stress. Finally, we will visit the local coffee shop Pasiones del Café, where we will taste their delicious premium quality coffees. We will conclude the excursion to Villa Rica returning to Oxapampa and leaving you at your hotel between 16:00 and 17:00 hours.

At 8:00 a.m. we will start our excursion from your hotel in Oxapampa, exploring the highlights of this province. For two hours, we will enjoy the road trip through the rural landscapes of Oxapampa until we reach Huancabamba. Here, we will explore the local streets and parks before continuing our tour. We will continue our journey to the well-known waterfalls of Rayantambo, Torrebamba and Yulitunqui, skirting the Yanachaga Chemillén National Park on the way to Pozuzo, the first Austro-German colony in Peru, founded in 1859 after the Peruvian government granted the land to the settlers. In Pozuzo, we will visit the main square, the colonists' cemetery, the church of San José and the Emperor Wilhelm I bridge, highlighting the Germanic architectural influence present throughout the municipality. Afterwards, we will walk for 15 minutes to a viewpoint with a breathtaking view of the city. Afterwards, we will head to the craft brewery Dörcher Bier for a beer tasting. After some free time to enjoy the local cuisine on your own, we will continue exploring the picturesque architectural designs of Pozuzo's neighbourhoods. Finally, we will return to Oxapampa, making a stop at the natural pools of Guacamayo before arriving at your hotel at approximately 18:30.

Itinerary At 6:30 a.m. we will pick you up at your hotel in Oxapampa to begin this tour through its province, in which we will visit its most emblematic places. For two hours, we will enjoy the road trip surrounded by the Oxapampa countryside until we reach Huancabamba. There, we will get off the vehicle to visit the streets and parks of this town, and then we will continue on our way. We will pass by the famous Rayantambo, Torrebamba and Yulitunqui waterfalls, and border the Yanachanga Chemillen National Park. Then we will arrive in Pozuzo, the first Austro-German colony in Peru. Did you know that it was founded in 1859, shortly after the Peruvian government granted this land to the settlers? We will take a tour of the main square, the Colonists' cemetery, the San José church and the Emperor Wilhelm I bridge. As we tour the township, you will witness the pervasive influence of Germanic architecture. Afterwards, we will take a short 15-minute walk to the lookout point, from where you will enjoy a wonderful view of the city. Next, we will visit the Dörcher Bier craft brewery, where you can enjoy a beer tasting. After a break for lunch on your own and a taste of the local gastronomy, we will continue to discover the curious architectural designs of Pozuzo's neighborhoods. We will then start our return trip to Oxapampa, making a stop at the natural pools of Guacamayo. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
