Declared by the Junta de Andalucía as a Natural Area in 1989, it had already been classified as a Special Protection Area for Birds in 1987 and, since 2006, it is part of the Andalusia-Morocco Intercontinental Biosphere Reserve of the Mediterranean. The site has been added to the list of Places of Community Importance in the Mediterranean Biogeographic Region. The Museo Picasso Málaga was created in response to the artist's desire for his work to be exhibited in the city of his birth in 1881. Its realization is thanks to the combined efforts of the artist´s daughter-in-law and grandson, whose donations provide the body of the art collection, and Junta de Andalucía, who arranged an ambitious project devoted to the artist. Located in the Palacio de Buenavista, declared a National Monument in 1939, the Museo Picasso Málaga opened in the heart of Málaga in 2003. The building boasts a harmonic mix of Renaissance and Mudéjar elements and serene contemporary lines. Phoenician, Roman, and Arabic ruins can be found on the underground floor. El Caminito del Rey, after many years of total abandonment, is now a rebuilt path that stretches between 2 gorges and a large valley. After finishing the downhill trail from north to south, reach the exit point where your bus awaits. Once the group is on board the bus, return from el Chorro to Málaga during 1hour and to Costa del Sol to be dropped off at your pickup point.
