Setúbal and Tróia: Dolphin Watching and Arrábida Bays

Setúbal and Tróia: Dolphin Watching and Arrábida Bays

Firstly, we will look for and meet the Sado bottlenose dolphins to observe and interpret their behaviors (30 minutes is the time allowed by law to watch dolphins). Later we will visit all the bays of Arrábida, including the beaches of Galapos, Galapinhos, Portinho da Arrábida, Alpertuche, and the Santa Margarida cave and Anixa island, etc. We will also take a closer look at some monuments such as the Fort of Outão, the Fort of Santa Maria, and the Convent of Arrábida. By sailing a little faster, we look for dolphins in many more places (we have a success rate that stands out: 99.9%). The shallow depth of the boats allows us to enter the bays of Arrábida and have an incomparably closer and more complete experience. Depending on the number of reservations, we will do the tour on a larger or smaller boat. It's so rare that we don't see dolphins, that if this happens, we offer you free vouchers to repeat this experience whenever you want. We don't like microphones. On board, there will always be a guide, "live and in person", who will tell you some stories and curiosities about dolphins and the various emblematic places that we will visit in the Arrábida Natural Park. The speed and the music onboard make the perfect match for a unique and fun sailing experience.

Lisbon: Kayak Tour Arrábida Natural Park, Setubal, Sesimbra

Lisbon: Kayak Tour Arrábida Natural Park, Setubal, Sesimbra

The bays of the Arrábida Natural Park are the perfect place to practice Canoeing. Enjoy a magical moment, surrounded by the wild nature of Praia dos Coelhos or the magnificent landscapes of the beaches of Galápos and Galapinhos, which, up to Praia da Figueirinha, form one of the most beautiful bays in Europe, between the picturesque village of Sesimbra and the city of Setúbal, less than an hour's drive from Lisbon. In Canoeing you will start with a safety briefing and an introduction to your guide/instructor and Canoeing equipment. Then we start a learning and review session, during which you'll learn to maneuver the canoe controllably, and, after departing towards the sea, you'll have the unique opportunity to stop at the famous Anicha Island for a snorkeling session (optional), where you can observe very closely all the marine life that surrounds it. Equipped with buoyancy aids and a paddle, you'll feel like an authentic explorer while navigating the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean, and exploring the mysterious caves and secret beaches along the coastal area between Portinho da Arrábida and Praia de Alpertuche. At the end of the canoeing experience, you will return to the starting point for a debriefing of the experience and share the highlights of the day. Whether you are beginner or experienced, it is ideal to enjoy by yourself or in group, with your friends, family and/or partner, celebrate birthdays, bachelor(ettes), or school or corporate events, accessible to everyone. Don't question yourself any longer and accept this challenge to discover Canoeing in the Prof. Luiz Saldanha Marine Park.

Sesimbra e Arrábida Natural Park: 1 Day Tour & Wine Tasting

Sesimbra e Arrábida Natural Park: 1 Day Tour & Wine Tasting

Leave Lisbon behind and go over the bridge "Ponte 25 de Abril", known as "The Golden Gate", so called after the fall of the fascist regime in 1974 about the freedom of the Portuguese people. You will glimpse from above the Tejo estuary which constitutes a protected natural reserve and is a nursery for several species of marine fish and water birds. At low tide, you also will be able to see the locals harvesting clams. Head south along the magnificent coastline and marvel at the beaches, landscapes, and vineyards of Costa Azul Promontory National Park, which includes Sesimbra e Arrábida Natural Park. Discover the deepest lagoons in Portugal until you reach the westernmost point of Vila de Sesimbra: Cabo Espichel. On this Portuguese promontory, the bravest will be able to glimpse the vertiginous and abysmal Lagosteiros Bay. Visit the picturesque fishing village of Sesimbra, located next to a sheltered bay, conquered by our king D. Afonso Henriques in 1165, and discover its Medieval Moorish Castle. It's time for a break and to relax. Take a walk along the sea or take a break at a local bakery and taste a good Portuguese coffee. Keep heading south to Serra da Arrábida natural park, a place of infinite beauty between the mountains and the sea. Prepare to be amazed by unparalleled landscapes and take incredible photos. The current fauna includes, among others, the fox, the wild boar, the Bonelli's eagle, and the royal swift. The park is a protected area, and certain places can only be accessed with special permission, but no worries, we have passage. Enjoy a delicious lunch by the sea and taste fresh local products. Enjoy a glass of wine and delight with a magnificent fresh grilled fish, such as a beautiful Robalo, caught in our seas or try the local “Choco Frito”, a Portuguese version of “Fish&Chips”. Take a walk along the beach and enjoy nature. In summer you may want to swim in our turquoise waters, but be prepared for a vigorous swim. It's time to continue our tour and to begin our wine tasting. Have a delicious Moscatel Wine inside a Castle and enjoy a unique view over the Sado River. Visit two local own-property wineries and taste several awarded wines. Stroll through the vineyards and visit the wine factory to see the wine-making process. Explore a small wine museum with artifacts dating back to the Roman era. Travelers love visiting this unrivaled wine-producing region, which boasts some of the best wine products in Europe. Visit a local tile crafts house and complement your wine-tasting experience with some of the best local pastries and indulge in mouth-watering regional sweets. It is now time to return to Lisbon, but not without first visiting the incredible Cristo Rei monument, which is one of the most emblematic symbols of the Lisbon region, and end your day with a fantastic sunset.
