Full description

Access the interior of one of Prague’s finest examples of pseudo-Gothic style as you wander around the Powder Gate Tower, designed by architect Josef Mocker.

As you stroll, admire various sculptures of former Czech kings, Bohemian patrons and saints, and religious characters such as the Virgin Mary and Adam and Eve.

Learn about the history of the tower and how it was transformed from a former gunpowder store to the starting place of the Bohemian Kings’ Royal Path to Prague Castle.

Climb up the 186 stone steps to reach the observation gallery located 44 meters above ground level. Here, enjoy panoramic views of the entire city and its many church spires.

Amazing views, but poor signages. We went up a few flight of steep spiral stairs to reach the main landing area to realise that we need to replace our digital tickets to paper tickets at the ticket office outside of the entrance. No indication we needed to collect them prior. The tickets quite literally say go directly into the tower. On the flip side, you can purchase tickets up the spiral staircase. Very counterintuitive.

There isn't so much to see in this tower, but it's nice to read the history and gain information about Prague's past and other aspects. The view is very nice and the employees were very friendly. Enjoyed their hosting and attention.
