What to Expect
Escape the hustle and bustle of central Prague on a full-day tour of Bohemia, departing the city center at approximately 09:00 for a 45-minute drive to Nižbor Palace, founded in the 2nd half of the 13th century, and renovated from a very desolate state in the 1990s.
Upon arrival, see a unique exhibition of Celtic culture, before going to a glassworks factory to learn the process of making decorative crystal glass through grinding, painting, gilding and sandblasting. Visit the factory shop to buy some of the products.
Next, enjoy lunch in the historic ambiance of Keltovna Restaurant. Choose from an extensive menu of grilled meats, served with a Gambrinus beer. Then, go to one of the oldest castles of the Bohemian kings, and learn how it became a refuge for Queen Eliška, wife of King Jan Lucemburský, after the burning of Prague Castle in 1316.
Continue to Chateau Lány, founded in 1392 with a vast game reserve for breeding game, such as deer, fallow-deer, and mouflon (wild sheep). Tour the summer residence of many Czech presidents since 1921.
End with a visit to a racing car museum to see more than 100 cars that date from 1914 to the high speed cars of Tomas Enge, the Czech driver who has participated in Formula 1 and the American IndyCar Series.
