Discover the majesty of Karlštejn Castle on a 10-hour tour of Bohemia from Prague. Enjoy lunch with castle views at Karlštejn golf resort. Then, explore the vast karst cave system of Koněprusy, ending with a visit to the twin castles of Žebrák and Točník.
What to Expect
Escape the hustle and bustle of central Prague on a full-day tour of Central Bohemia, departing the city center at approximately 09:00 for a 1-hour drive to the town of Karlštejn, site of an historic castle founded in 1348 by Charles IV.
Travel back in time as you are transported by horse carriage before a tour of the castle complex. Designed to protect the crown jewels and relics of the Kingdom and Holy Roman Empire, the castle’s extensive renovations between 1887 and 1889 followed a purist principle, removing most of its Renaissance extravagance.
Following a short visit to the town center, enjoy lunch at Kolkovna Restaurant, where a team of experienced chefs will serve up top level gastronomy for your pleasure. Enjoy views of the castle as you dine.
Next, go to the karst cave system at Koněprusy in the Protected Area of Český Kras. Explore the longest cave system in Bohemia, admiring the “Roses of Koněprusy” collection of important archaeological finds and a hidden forgers‘ workshop.
End with a visit to the picturesque twin castles of Žebrák and Točník, founded in the 2nd half of the 13th century, and 2nd half of the 14th century respectively.
