The largest castle complex in the world!

With an area of about 215,000 ft² (over 18 acres!), Prague Castle is the largest medieval castle in the world!

St. Vitus Cathedral

Housed within the castle complex is the magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral. An amazing example of Gothic architecture, it remains one of the most important churches in the country.

Different architectural styles

Due to hundreds of years of political changeovers and ever-shifting cultural influences, the castle complex features broad mix of architectural styles, from Romanesque to ornate Baroque.

Prague Castle Orchestra

This small musical group (not in fact a full orchestra in residence) play outside the gates of the castle regularly for tourists and are worth hearing on your visit!

Changing of the guard

As Prague Castle is the official residence and office of the President of the Czech Republic, a Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place each day on the hour.

What People Are Saying About Prague Castle

Not bad, not bad at all....informative, polite tour guide.

A pretty good tour with a lot of info and warnings upfront. You can't blame the tour for the lousy weather....all in all a good tour.

Seeing beautiful Prague at night was very special.

My husband and I visited Prague in early February but this evening tour really caught my eye so I booked us on. We were very lucky to find it was just us on that evening and we met our guide who was a lovely young lady called Kate. We had managed to get lost between the Old Town Square and the meeting point at Charles Bridge so we were 10 mins late. Luckily Kate patiently waited for us. We had a lovely walk around the Kampa Island, the castle etc. The statues, spires and buildings come to life at night with the lighting and it is very romantic and atmospheric. Kate's local knowledge is excellent as is her English. We really enjoyed it.

An alternative look at the delightful city of Prague

A spooky insight into this beautiful city. Tales of hauntings, murder and ghostly goings on. Our guide Rebeccah was great and the time passed all too quickly. A great evening around the squares and passages of Prague-highly recommended.

A superb introduction to the history of Prague and more besides!

We weren't sure if a 3 hour bus and walking tour would be too long or dull for us but we needn't have worried. Our guide (George) was superb! George not only knew lots about Prague's political history and architecture - he knew lots of fun anecdotes like which building had doubled as the American Embassy in 'The Bourne Identity' which impressed my son on the tour. The time flashed past and all my family enjoyed our introduction to Prague. A quality morning was had by all.
