We only got to see old palace on the inside due to traveling and timing and a particular woman at the new palace that was rude to us. We went there first and she refused to let us schedule a time because we had not done the old palace first. Nothing in the info said anything of the kind but she was dismissive. We had to walk around only on the outside and then go back to the old palace. It was lovely but small only .12 rooms. We used on and off bus for travel which was difficult to coordinate but better than walking. You can only go into the new palace with a tour and can only do that in person which makes no sense. She wanted us to leave go do the old first then come back and book the new. She refused to book it then and there. Frustrating

Know before you go

  • Please make sure you visit Sansoucci during the time displayed on our ticket.
  • The New Palace can only be visited on a guided tour. Please go to the Visitor's Center at the New Palace to get a seperate ticket with the guided tour time.
  • The New Palais in Sanssouci Park which is closed on Tuesdays
  • January 1-March 31/November 1-December 31, Tuesday-Sunday, 10:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • April 1-October 31, Tuesday-Sunday, 10:00 AM-5:30 PM
  • The last entry is 30 minutes before closing time
  • Tickets are non-refundable and can't be rebooked. Reduced tickets will only be accepted with appropriate proof at the entrance.
  • Reduced tickets are available for school children, students, trainees, participants in the Federal Volunteers (BFD) or the Freiwillige Soziale Jahr (FSJ, voluntary social year) programs, severely disabled persons (with a degree of disability (GdB) of at least 50%), as well as recipients of “Arbeitslosengeld I” unemployment benefits. Proper identification must be shown for reductions to apply

The castle and grounds were beautiful, as was the surrounding area. We appreciated the headsets with English offered. We have been to castles with no guides or headsets and didn’t get nearly as much out of them.
