Meet your host then visit an authentic grocery store where you will try a very well known combination in Porto: cheese, quince and marmalade. Following this you will enter a second local grocery store to try a 'fruto seco'. The tour then continues by sampling the best of traditional sweet and savory pastries, with the famed pastel de nata and 'bolinhos de bacalhau' on the menu. The next stop will be a cafe serving an Anthony Bourdain acclaimed snack, which will be partnered with a local Super Bock beer. The tour wraps up with some sampling of 'Tasca', delicious cured ham on slow cooked bread, before concluding with a glass of port wine whilst taking in a serene view.

Cool thing, we enjoyed a lot of Portuguese specialties. Our tour started at 1100, which was ideal, around noon there was salty food and of course beer. Beer has to be paid for, but is not a problem and Miguel is not averse to one or the other beer ... In addition, we have received valuable tips and restaurant recommendations from him - outside of the classic "tourist zones".
