What awaits you?
Have you arrived in Porto and want to get to know the most important sights as well as the hidden alleys and life in Porto? Then I can offer you a tour that addresses this and your individual wishes. I assure you that it will be a lot of fun to discover Porto together in a group!
No matter whether you have only been in Porto for a few hours and want to get your bearings or whether you already know the city a little but want to find out more about the city and its people; This tour offers you 3:30 hours full of tips, stories, anecdotes and fun.
The city tour is a mixture of visiting the most important sights and corners that tourists rarely get to without local knowledge. The visit to the sights is always combined with background information about the history of Porto and Portugal, as well as interesting anecdotes.
Part 1 [Introductory information, tips for going out and top attractions in the upper city center]
We will start the tour at the town hall of the city of Porto at the monument to the poet Almeida-Garret, where initial introductory information about the city and country will be given.
We continue through winding streets, past one of the most beautiful bookstores in Europe, the center of the university, to one of the best viewing points in Porto, with a view of the Baixa and Gaia. This first part is supported with lots of tips on restaurants, bars and cafés where you can get typical Portuguese food and drink (and at prices that are not overpriced) as well as anecdotes about the district and the places.
Part 2 [City tour in the Baixa, the riverside districts and strolling along the Douro River]
It goes further down, always towards the river and away from the tourist crowds. At the river we have time to enjoy this wonderful feeling of being right on the river, with a view of the port wine cellars on the other side of the river.
Part 3 [Almost untouched historic district below the cathedral + the cathedral itself]
Experience a district where tourism has not yet found its way. The well-fortified cathedral and the extraordinary view of Porto lead us to the end of the tour.
