One of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the world, Santiago is best known for the Caminhos de Santiago (St. James Way) pilgrim trail following the cult of St. James. Upon arrival, you will visit the magnificent 11th-centuty cathedral, dedicated to the apostle. Originally built in a Romanesque style, today the cathedral is an amalgam of harmonious influences. You will have the opportunity to attend mass if you wish, and there will be free time for lunch and a stroll in the UNESCO World Heritage city center. In the afternoon, drive back to Porto, stopping at Valença do Minho, an historical village in the north of Portugal, located right on the border between Portugal and Spain. Valença was important during the middle ages, with a privileged view to the line boarder it was several times harassed by Spain. Being also part of "Caminhos de Santiago". A long day but a fantastic, amazing day tour with Daniel at the helm. His commentary, interest in assisting us any way possible and driving ability were all exemplary. Liked every aspect of the tour and enabled me to accomplish a long held desire to see the cathedral at Santiago de Compostela. Very much enjoyed my exploring around this ancient, interesting town. The added stops were well worth the visit too. Marvellous day out. Highly recommended.

As a person who has English difficulty, I thought it might be a rather unstable choice. I participated in the tour because I had a dream of going on a pilgrimage to Santiago and I really wanted to visit Valença. A private tour involving a woman from Poland and only two people was as pleasant and good as it could be. Most of all, the guide, Daniel & Joana's careful consideration and wit, even in a moving car, It was enough to make everyone happy during lunch. From the stories and history of Portuguese culture and life... Unlike what I was worried about before I left, Daniel's accurate pronunciation and the speed of words that were considerate of me were perfect. Above all, I could feel Daniel's sincere consideration for me, so I could immerse myself in the tour. Just in case you're alone... not good at English... If you're worried or hesitant, Please participate without hesitation. From the expressions of pilgrims arriving at Santiago de Compostela, You feel passion and fulfillment.

It was great to be on the road as a small group (6 people in total). Antonio, our guide provided us with interesting details during the drive. Lunch at a local restaurant was also good and plentiful. There was enough time to soak up the atmosphere of this very special place.
