The museum was very interesting and well laid out. I learned so much from the different grapes to the soil in the different regions. This was a great experience.

I learned so much about wine in general as well as wines from around the world and more specifically Portuguese wines. The experience is amazing and so well-documented and illustrated. Pleasant & knowledgeable staff, plus at the end you sample a white, a red, a Port and learn more. Great gift shop as well!

The WOW visit appealed as it combined learning about wine production along with a tasting of a red, white and port at the end compared to 'just' visiting a port lodge. Signage and communication could be a bit better to guide you to where you should go to start your visit but, once in, it was very interesting and detailed. There are lots of interactive elements including chances to sample the aroma af various wine flavours, watch some explanatory short films, and read plenty of information on info panels dotted around. I just made it to the final wine tasting part - mine was the last one of the day so be aware of this when timing your visit as you may spend longer than you'd expect going through the sequential exhibits as you learn about wine production from the initial leaves appearing on the vines to final bottling of the wine. My time here was finished off very pleasantly with drinks on their lovely roof terrace overlooking the river area - and the drinks are reasonably priced!
