We stayed 6 days in Gaia and used Metro and a number of busses to reach hot spots in Porto and around on a daily basis. This worked very well for us and we saved quite some money with that. We didn't take advantage of the Porto Card, strolling around in museums and churches etc. was not on our bucket list this time.
The metro in Porto saves a lot of steps! Took a ride through it and it immediately made sense. So inexpensive, too!
