This is a wonderful day trip to see some of the most gorgeous landscape in Europe! While I do not typically enjoy wine tour, the stops at both wineries were very interesting! The restaurant setting for lunch was incredible and the food good. Our guide was fabulous!! This excursion was well worth the cost and a highlight of our Portugal trip!

Our guide Miriam was super sweet and made conversation with our eclectic tour group (2 Americans, 4 Aussies and 2 Irish). We stopped for coffee along the way which was nice. Lunch was good but a little loud and mass produced IMO. And the roads get windy and everyone drives fast in Portugal, so beware if you get carsick easily! The Douro River cruise was beautiful and relaxing and not crowded or hot at all. The boat operators left a little to be desired, they smoked briefly and it drifted into the boat a little and pretty sure they hit the back of the boat on the pier as we took off. But they aren’t a part of the tour company so don’t let that deter you from booking. The last winery we stopped at was definitely the highlight… 5 pours, olive oil and multiple honey tastings. All in all, a pretty decent tour and we enjoyed ourselves.

We had an amazing day in what turned out to be our favorite activity of our entire 2 week vacation. The transportation was excellent and on time. Our guide (Marci - not sure on spelling...) was fantastic filled with great knowledge of the wine regions of Italy, the Duoro valley, Porto, and was entertaining and overall a great companion to spend the day with. We highly highly recommend this tour as you get to a few different wineries which are both great experiences. Loved it!
