This experience is fully dedicated to Cantinho das Aromáticas Company. The purpose of this experiment is similar to what is currently done with the grape harvest in the Douro Wine Region, but in this case the experience will be made with aromatic plants.
What to Expect
At 9:30, you'll be picked up from your Hotel in Oporto or in Vila Nova de Gaia, then taken on a guided tour to the garden and the cultivated plant fields. From there, the guide will give a perspective of the entire production process from seed to the final product. It will be possible to have sensory experience, enabled by the herbs grown at the time. The aromas, colors, textures, sounds and flavors will be a constant presence throughout the tour, and the visitor can touch, smell and even taste the herbs.
At 11:30, you'll be taken on a guided tasting of infusions. At this point in the visit, the flavors and aromas, with the tasting of infusions properly prepared by the team of the Cantinho das Aromáticas, will culminate. The visitor will learn how to prepare infusions (or tisanes) and how to taste these fantastic beverages.
At 12:30 you'll have a light lunch, using herbs produced in Cantinho das Aromáticas, then begin work on the farm at 14:00. This volunteer work depends on the time of year, and may include the harvest, propagation of plants or their planting. At 17:00 you'll end the tour and be dropped off at your hotel.
