Douro Valley: Wine Tour with Lunch, Tastings & River Cruise

This trip was excellent, Juan (in Spanish) is very friendly, I truly recommend him, it was a tour that elevated our expectations, Juan in Spanish loves what he does, he makes the tour very fun. You won’t regret. One of our best tours in our life. This is something you shouldn’t miss.

Wow, what an amazing day! Everything was well planned out and executed. Meeting point was organized. There were lots of people but we were all separated into smaller groups and taken on different tour buses with different guides. We only went to the same two wineries as another group. The first winery, Croft, was very enjoyable and the tour was very nice. The second winery provided us with a 4 course meal which was tasty. However, the second winery tour felt rushed as if the representative did not care to talk to the group and explain. Besides that, our tour guide Luciano was amazing. A very happy and knowledablw man. He was approachable and answered any questions we had. He also took time to day with each guest. Our driver Nelson, was also amazing. I cannot fathom how he drives such a large bus on such tiny roads at times - we always felt very safe! I would recommended this experience to anyone, I wish I could do it again!

What a fantastic day! Andre Maia kept us entertained the whole time with interesting facts about Porto and the Douro valley. The coach was great (it had air conditioning and phone chargers) and expertly driven by Bruno. The two vineyards were very different and the wine at both was delicious. Lunch was also fantastic: three courses with tuna and bean salad and tomato and cheese salad to start, followed by three meats and mashed potatoes and finishing with orange cake. The boat ride was beautiful. We also stopped off for a couple of breaks and we enjoyed visiting the extra little town. I highly recommend and it was a great day!
