What People Are Saying About Porto
Our guide and driver, Andre, was excellent. Please thank him for telling us about Park of Virtues as we loved it. We felt the half day tour was too short for what could be enjoyed in Aveiro and would suggest at least two hours for looking around before or after the boat trip.
Our guide Claudia was fabulous with giving us historical information as she drove us to the Douro Valley for our wine tour. It was a great use of time and she was very knowledgable and extremely nice. The tour was informative and a good mix of winery/process style. We enjoyed it very much.
Our guide John(Joao) was very knowledgeable and very friendly. It was fun to taste the wines with no pressure to buy. Highly recommended.
One of the better day trip wine tours I've done anywhere in the world. The boat ride in the middle of the day is perfect and both wineries were impressive. The only drawback is that we didn't really get to go into the vineyards. If that's important to you, then this may not be the right your for you. The guide took us to some scenic lookouts that the bus tours can't go to and provided plenty of good information. The lunch was delicious and more than enough food! I was staying in a hostel and the tour group arranged the pickup time with them leaving me free and relaxed that I could just get up and go.
The Douro Valley is a gem. Daniel, our guide, was helpfull, cheerfull and knowledgeble. The stops were well planed and lunch was excellent, served with all you can drink Douro wine. Only the presentation at the Croft estate was a bit stiff and lacked passion. We've been offered very little Port. But the rest of the tour was memorable. Thanks Daniel!
