Full description
Experience the beauty of Aveiro’s water channels, which are natural formations along the Portuguese coast. Traditionally connected to the river and to the sea, the city has been called the Venice of Portugal. You’ll feel the culture of this city that was once a fishing village, where residents made their living from the river, the sea, and salt production. The half-day tour begins at the fish market square, where you’ll have great views of the city center. Next you’ll head out on an hour’s cruise along the city’s beautiful water channels. Travel by a typical, yet unique boat called a moliceiro that is decorated with motifs related to the local culture. After the cruise your guide will show you the Costa Nova neighborhood that borders the sea. Admire some of the old traditional houses that are small in size, and painted in bright colors with vertical stripes.

I had an amazing time and truly enjoyed the experience. I loved seeing the colorful houses, but also how the people of Aveiro live and work. A few bonuses also included the boat tour which is part of the package and tasting a small serving of wine with a tiny sample portugese dessert that I had for the first time. Perfect way to spend the morning and would definitely recommend this to friends and family

Very nice excursion

Thanks again to our guide Anabella who spoke very good French and who made our excursion very interesting. Given the travel time to Aveiro (1h round trip + 1h return), do not expect to spend a lot of time on site but that is enough to get an idea and discover a very nice little port. A plus: pick-up at our hotel

Had a great half day

Pedro was a very sympathetic guide and does his work in an enthusiastic way. We received a lot of interesting information and at two moments a little free time to walk around ourselves. Aveiro is definitely worth a visit, only the cruise that was included seemed like nothing. Monotonous landscape and not so interesting info
