    Your 8.5-hour trip begins early with a hotel pickup from downtown Portland. Embark on an exhilarating morning drive through the Columbia River Gorge. Catch spectacular views of the Cascade Mountains that flank the river and glimpse a waterfall or two. Along the forested highway, visit Oregon’s famous waterfall Multnomah Falls. Join your guide and fellow visitors on Benson Bridge and snap a picture of the 611-foot-tall cascade of water as it crashes below. Next, continue to Hood River, a picturesque valley town renowned as a prime destination for wind sports. Watch kiteboarders and windsurfers skate across the water as you learn about Hood River’s rich environmental and cultural history.Then take some free time for lunch, shopping or wine-tasting (if whimsy strikes you!). Then visit Rowena Crest which has spectacular views of the Columbia River Gorge. The final stop on your guided tour is the glorious Mount Hood, Oregon’s tallest peak at 11,249 feet (3,429 meters) and Timberline Lodge. Take a mountain walk or a self-guided visit through the renovated lodge that was once the setting for the classic film The Shining. Your day concludes back in Portland by early evening.

    oh wow! It was a fantastic tour even with some poor weather – it didn’t matter because the tour was that good. John our tour guide was interesting and funny and kept everyone entertained. I learned so much. I highly recommend this tour for people who are visiting or people like myself who have lived in the area for years and just wanted more information about it. You can’t go wrong with this tour

    This is a fabulous tour. We were lucky and had beautiful weather, cold but sunny. The waterfalls were magnificent and Mt Hood was spectacular . Our tour guide Paul was not happy when my friends and I spent 8 mins over our time at the Multnomah Falls so we stayed on time the rest of the day and he took us to a lake that really showed the beauty of Mt Hood. A tour you should not miss while in Portland!

    We thoroughly enjoyed this trip!

    Even though the sun wasn’t shining most of the day, we really enjoyed our day. It was a day to learn things about the Portland and Mt. Hood area that you would not otherwise learn without a guide. We visited a berry and fruit farm, and another farm with fresh baked goods. We visited a fish hatchery that was more like a nice park with a lovely gift shop. Our guide was the friendliest and provided so much information and truly made the trip very enjoyable.We were so glad that we included this tour in our visit to Portland.
