Full description
Marvel at spectacular waterfalls, visit historic sites, and take in breathtaking mountain vistas on a full-day Mount Hood loop tour. From Portland you’ll travel along the historic Columbia River Highway through the Columbia River Gorge, with an experienced naturalist guide.

Hike along rushing rivers and fish-laden streams. Tour boutique wineries and taste their wines.

Enjoy views of some of the Columbia River Gorge’s 70 waterfalls, and hike on one of the trails or enjoy a splash in the fresh water. Notice the dramatic change in the climate and plant life as you continue driving east. The wet forests of the coastal Pacific Northwest region give way to more arid vegetation, creating optimum growing conditions for grapes.

Learn about the local wine industry on a tour of local boutique wineries. Sample some of the fine wines that are found only in Oregon.

Admire the snow-capped mountain peaks on the way to Mount Hood. From historic Timberline Lodge on the mountain you can take in spectacular regional views as you learn about local legends and pioneering skiers.

On the return drive you’ll pass through dense forest and along crystal-clear waterways. Walk through old growth forests alongside the sparkling Salmon River, with the chance for a final swim!
