Explore Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation. Ride a 4WD vehicle as you spot wildlife, catch incredible views, and try regional food along the way. After being picked up in a 4WD, make your way north along the Captain Cook Highway. Stop first at the Daintree Cruise Centre for a quick tea, coffee, and biscuits before setting out to explore the Daintree River on a 1-hour guided cruise. During your cruise, you may spot estuarine crocodiles in the wild, from youngsters to massive 4-meter adults. Learn about the birds and wildlife that make this area their home. At the Daintree Rainforest boardwalk, you'll go on an informative guided tour to experience the National Park's beauty up close. See ancient 900-year-old palms and keep your eye out for wildlife native to the area. After exploring all morning, you'll be ready for lunch. Enjoy lunch with your fellow travellers and cool off with a refreshing swim in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest. Head to Cape Tribulation Beach for a stroll along the beach to admire the views. Those feeling a little more energetic can take the short botanical boardwalk to the Cape Tribulation beach lookout. Stop at the Daintree’s hidden secret, the Daintree ice creamery. Your taste buds will be tantalized with exotic tropical fruit homemade ice cream. A signature scoop of ice cream is included. As the day comes to an end after taking the ferry back across, head back toward Port Douglas and Cairns, where you'll be dropped off at your accommodation.

Spend the day where two natural wonders meet—the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Begin your journey with a coastal drive from Cairns to Port Douglas, taking in panoramic views of the Coral Sea along the way. Your first stop is Mossman Gorge, tucked in the southern reaches of Daintree National Park. Carved out by the cool waters of the Mossman River, this stunning gorge features giant granite boulders surrounded by lush rainforest. Walk beneath the towering rainforest canopy, swim in cool mountain streams, and take part in a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoke Ceremony led by the Kuku Yalanji people. Continue north to board a wildlife river cruise across the Daintree River. Keep watch for crocodiles and other native wildlife as your guide shares fascinating facts about this unique habitat. Back on land, head to enjoy a delicious lunch before taking a short nature walk through a mix of towering rainforest, mangrove ecosystems and lush undergrowth before visiting the only place on Earth where two UNESCO World Heritage sites meet - the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Before heading back to Cairns, make a final stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Co., where you can choose to treat yourself to a scoop of locally made ice cream (at your own expense). After a day of adventure, sit back and enjoy the scenic ride back to your accommodation.

FULL DAY OUTER REEF SNORKEL TOUR The Journey After boarding at 8:10am, Wavelength departs Port Douglas’ Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina taking you on a 90-minute trip to the edge of the continental shelf. Passing Low Isles en route, we often encounter dolphins and in winter may see humpback whales. The journey is a good opportunity for our crew to get to know you and answer any questions you have about the day. During this time, you’ll be fitted out with quality snorkelling gear and shown how to use it. One of the marine biologists will give tips on what to look out for to get the most out of your day. Let’s Snorkel On arrival at the outer reef the snorkel advisor conducts a comprehensive safety brief and, if it’s your first time snorkelling, we have plenty of time to help you feel comfortable. Once in the water guests are free to explore the reef under the expert advice of our crew. A difference with Wavelength is that the crew spend more time in the water with you to help you get going and to point things out. Second Site After morning tea we move along to another one of our many sites, chosen to suit the conditions on the day. Here, with passengers having mastered their snorkelling skills, we conduct guided snorkel tours. Our marine biologists help snorkellers discover aspects of the new site that might otherwise be missed, and point out some of the multitude of life forms. On a guided snorkel tour it’s possible to be handed a small number of different creatures, though we have strict guidelines on what can be touched so as to protect the integrity of the reef. A Deli-style Lunch The delicious deli-style lunch consists of gourmet rolls or food bowls for special diets. Water, soft drinks, coffee and tea are also available. Wavelength can cater for different dietary requirements including lactose and gluten free (YOU MUST ADVISE US THE DAY PRIOR OF ANY SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS). We don’t serve prawns due to the significant by-catch associated with them and we don’t serve red meat as reducing meat consumption is one of the easiest ways an individual can reduce personal carbon emissions. Reef Talks During lunch, our marine biologists conduct our interactive reef talk. This is where you can ask questions on anything that you’ve seen through the day or simply sit, relax and learn all about the ecosystem of the Great Barrier Reef. If you’d rather just chill out you don’t have to listen to the talks. Third Site Once everyone’s appetites have been satisfied and all questions answered we head to our final site of the day, where, with a better understanding of the reef, guests are free to adventure further. This is a good chance to make sure you have some great in-water photos. These are free of charge and forwarded by a Dropbox link along with a selection of our favourite Wavelength wildlife pictures. Cruising Following afternoon tea we head back with the wonderful view of the sun dropping towards the rainforest clad mountains. Wavelength arrives back in Port Douglas at approximately 4.00pm.

Learn about the area's history with onboard commentary, and enjoy a free beverage and snack. Board the riverboat at the marina and set sail through the mangrove forests of Port Douglas. Then, explore Dickson Inlet and head to the entrance. Keep an eye out for estuarine crocodiles in the water. Also, admire the view of mountains, islands, and rainforests. Listen to informative commentary from your guide about the history of Port Douglas and the area's flora and fauna. While aboard, receive a complimentary drink and a box of snacks from the bar.

Join a magical snorkeling experience around a beautiful, secluded island in the Great Barrier Reef. Travel aboard a unique glass-bottom boat from Port Douglas to the Low Isles and enjoy a light refreshment. Dive into a calm lagoon to explore a colorful coral reef. Board a fun glass-bottom boat with plenty of space to lounge around. Depart from Port Douglas and feel the wind on your face while you navigate to the Low Isles. Join the crew on a guided snorkeling tour of the site. Learn about the incredible Great Barrier Reef and appreciate its majesty. Discover the small island at your own pace, walking through sandy paths and tropical vegetation. Come across the historical lighthouse, the lighthouse keeper's home, and the station where local weather data is collected. Hop back aboard and view the underwater world as you sail back.

Discover some of the finest scenery and fascinating culture of the Kuranda Rainforest on a guided tour. Visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, a Koala and Wildlife Park, and learn about about Aboriginal culture at the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience. Start your immersion into the culture and nature of the Kuranda Rainforest with a ride aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway. Wind through the mountains and rainforest to the village of Kuranda.  Upon arrival, experience Australia's largest butterfly aviary at the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary with 1,500 tropical butterflies, including the vibrant green Cairns Birdwing. Next, travel by shuttle to the Rainforestation Nature Park for a barbecue buffet lunch.  After lunch, explore the rainforest by 6WD amphibious vehicle as you climb aboard a World War II Army Duck that can drive over land and in water. Search for wildlife as you learn about the plants and trees of the surrounding rainforest. Then, sample some exotic fruits and locally-made ice cream at the Tropical Treats fruit orchard.  Find out more about Aboriginal culture at the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience and watch spear-throwing demonstrations and traditional dances. Try your hand at throwing a boomerang, and hear all about the didgeridoo. Then, get up close to Australian animals including koalas, dingoes and the endangered Cassowary and Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo. See typical Australian critters including wombats, crocodiles, lizards and birds. Feed the kangaroos and wallabies by hand. Then, travel back to Cairns on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and ride over the canopy of the pristine rainforest. Transfer back to your accommodation at the end of the tour services.

Arrive at Cairns Airport and be greeted by a friendly uniformed airport concierge or driver. Be guided to your waiting transport, where your driver will check your name and destination. Enjoy a welcome onboard and receive helpful information from your driver. Sit back and relax as you enjoy your journey to your hotel. Expect a journey time of 20 minutes to Cairns CBD and 25 minutes for Palm Cove hotels. At the end of your stay, take a transfer from your hotel to the airport.
