Full description
Take a cruise around Europe's largest natural harbor, home to the town of Poole, the golden beaches of Sandbanks and Brownsea Island. From either open deck seating or comfortable saloon you will see stunning views of the exceptional landscape that surrounds it. Your 70 minute trip will start on charming Poole Quay with its old buildings and buzzing atmosphere.  Next you will go past Brownsea Island, home to wildlife and picturesque Brownsea Castle, built to protect against French invasions. After that comes the Sandbanks Peninsula and the luxurious houses of the ‘Golden Mile’. Then you will tour the great natural expanse of the harbor and the remaining islands: Green, Furzey, Long and Round. Fronting onto beautiful scenery it helped inspire classics like Lord of the Rings and Gulliver's Travel.

Bit confusing, on the information sent by email, the instructions were to go to the red ticket booth opposite the jolly sailor pub. When we arrived we were told that the ticket booth is now blue and white, plus it was 300 feet away from the jolly sailor. Please update the details.

Trip was easy to book and transaction process was fast using PayPal. Trip itself was good, we picked the perfect weather for it! Boat was clean and covid restrictions well managed, the commentary was useful and clearly spoken, with added humour! Would book again for a longer day trip next time. It would be useful for the tour operator and other ticket agents to update the meeting point information, for example; don’t tell passengers to meet outside The Jolly Sailor pub when that is not the meeting point. Tell them to show their tickets at the blue hut (yes, now blue - not red!) opposite The Quay pub - this would be more accurate! The red hut is not for City Cruises. Overall it was a good experience and reasonably priced. Thank you.

    Enjoyable

My daughter and I took the Poole Harbour and Islands cruise, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It rained to begin with, and there were no seats left inside the cabin, but we put on our raincoats, mopped the seats, and sat at the front of the boat. Once the sun came out it was lovely, and very interesting too. Such an attractive harbour, we loved it. The commentary was helpful and amusing.
