What to Expect
We'll explore the quaint and beautiful town of Nordeste located on the eastern extremity of the island of São Miguel and to it belongs the highest point of the island - Pico da Vara with 1,1013 m of altitude.
In the north main road lined with beautiful flowers such as azáleas and hydrangeas we'll pass by much montains and viewpoints with the beautiful landscape, waterfalls and the steep slopes covered by the Macaronesian flora.
You will see the north cost the island and visit Ribeira Grande, the second city of the island named the island home due the beautifull architecture and narrow streets.
Also you will see the only tea plantation in Europe, where the clay soil and acid offers a very pleasant aftertaste to this very popular plant.
From this ridge of mountains several streams come down to the north coast and that you can contempletes with its waterfalls and botanical gardens, such as the Garden of the Ribeira dos Caldeirões or the Garden opf the Ribeira do Guilherme.
We'll stop in the main viewpoints on the area such as the Ponta do Arnel - a viewpoint for Eastern extremity of the island with the small ligthhouse, Pico dos Bodes and Salto do Cavalo just for named some of them.
