Full description
This tour starts in a parish village Faja de baixo, famous for the cultivation of pineapple. There, you'll have the opportunity of seeing the whole process of pineapple cultivation of the Azores. On reaching the town of Ribeira Grande, discover the architecture from this cities and of the island, pass by viewing points that overlook part of the north coast of the Sao Miguel. You'll have the opportunity to taste some traditional liquors. Visit the thermals of Ribeira Grande Boilers, a thermal suite constructed in the nineteenth century. In the central zone of the valley lies a large amount of clear blue boiling water.  Afterwards, you'll stop in the natural park of the Caldeira Velha for a relaxing stroll. Experience direct contact with nature. The Fire Lake, is a lake of very blue water, surrounded by dense and lush vegetation. It is the highest lagoon of the island of Sao Miguel, situated in the Pico da Barrosa at 937 meters.

    Informative and reliable

    Our guide was waiting for us punctually at the cruise terminal. The trip was very informative, lots of time for photos. The excursion ended with a good tip about local gastronomy. Excursions to the Azores at any time with this company.

    Super relaxed tour

    We booked the tour with a cruise ship during our stay. We would be picked up directly at the cruise terminal. We run in a minibus. We were traveling with our son (5). The guide had a lot of information for us. Any time!!!

    It never happened did it?

    We waited and waited and tried to phone local provider but their phone was turned off. We asked hotel staff for assistance but they were equally unable to make any contact. Our next phone call was long-distance back to your English office where the person that replied was unable to contact either and only suggested we wait longer. Very unhappy with this total lack of service. Having our Christmas trip confirmed by e-mail that we would be picked up at our hotel we now had to try to get a last minute trip organised with another company. No attempted apologies or attempt to sort this mess out from GetYourGuide we were left very unhappy.
