Absolutely, amazing day trip, so great our guides were very helpful and informative, also the driver was great through the city of Rome and the surrounding area. Pizza was so delicious and quick as well, it was an all around amazing trip and we would recommend anyone wanting to go to Pompeii to book this day trip. The only issue we had was the short time to climb mount Vesuvius, we both felt if we had some more time we could have enjoyed the check points and view instead of rushing back down again, but maybe that is out of their control. Other than that an overall get experience! 10 out of 10 would recommend!
Although we arrived at the meeting point in good time, because there were so many other groups in the area it was very difficult to find our guide which was quite stressful. Other members of the group had the same problem. This caused quite a long delay and this could have been avoided if the guide had identified herself more clearly. Once we got going we enjoyed the tour and our guide clearly knew her stuff and was happy to answer questions. The group was perhaps a little too large and at times when we were spread out, it was difficult to hear what she was saying because she was out of range of the headset.
Magnificent guide [Lello], who brought the whole scene to life together with humour and extensive knowledge. Skipping the line was SO worthwhile and starting at 09.00 was a huge success - the place was almost deserted and then just got busier by the minute. Expensive, but worth every penny.
Our guide, Paola, was outstanding. She is knowledgeable and professional. Her love for the culture is apparent during the tour. During our tour we witnessed a guest with another tour, who fell and Paola handled the situation calmly and swiftly. Highly recommend tour and guide.
The was a truly beautiful tour, I would highly recommend it. The only real complaint I had is that the seats in the bus were very uncomfortable and not terribly accommodating for long legged people. I was scrunched like a sardine and it was a long tour.
