Everything went well. We were picked up and dropped off as promised. On the way we stopped at a small Limoncello shop and got to taste their produce, which was nice. There was plenty of time to walk up to the crater and enjoy the view. However, the promised English-speaking assistance was lacking, as our driver only spoke Italian and all the other passengers also were Italian and did not speak English. Luckily, I understand enough Italian to have gotten the main information about time and pick-up and drop-off right, but that was really just a coincidence.

It was great so unreal seeing it all, do go for the whole day as it is well worth it. Takes a good 5 hours but we had rest breaks. If you download my Pompeii aswell you get all additional information so you don’t need to buy and audio guide, but if you do take headphones as it’s just on a phone speaker. Lots of water to take with your too and there is plenty of stations to refill.

Great attraction, a lot of walking on uneven surfaces and a lot of dust, so remember to have sport shoes, not sandals :) You will thank me later. I saw 3 people tripping, falling down and hurting their knees and hands during the trip. The ancient city was better than I expected and much bigger, many places are open for tourists to see and are in good condition, what makes great impression. Also inside the building at the end there is a small museum with sculptures.
