We were glad to book this tour, as the official website of Vesuvius showed no tickets available any more on our wished date. We double checked with GetYourGuide customer service and were told this tour had tickets included. Thanks so much that we were able to visit Vesuvius before we left Napoli and the guide was very professional and everything well organized. Highly recommended.

With Francesco we had a great guide who turned the trip into an event. Punctual departure, very understandable English, all the time on the road with the group, told many interesting facts and anecdotes and organized a free tour with a ranger upstairs (about 20 minutes). We are very satisfied and happy to have taken this excursion and to have Francesco as our guide!

The meeting with our guide Francesco at the main gate of Pompeii worked out great. We left on time for our tour, Mount Vesuvius. During the ride in the minivan, Francesco explained some interesting facts about the region and the volcano itself. After about half an hour we were at the highest point that can be reached by car. The ascent on foot took 30 to 40 minutes and was quite strenuous in the 34 degree heat. It is essential to wear sturdy shoes! But Francesco always motivated us and also took photos with us. At the crater we had 1 hour to explore. There are also opportunities to stock up on soft drinks. Then it went back again. We really enjoyed it. Francesco was a great guide, especially because of his wit and charm!
