This was a good tour with a friendly tour guide. There were lots of ruins and plenty of time to look around and take pictures. We did not get as much back story on the history of Pompeii as I would have expected, but had lots of information about each room and ruin we walked through. We were an add-on for the Pompeii portion of a larger group that had come down from Rome, so we only participated in the Pompeii aspect of the tour.

Our tour guide (Vittorio) was amazing and nice. Therefore 4 stars. But before that it was pure chaos. We were 40 minutes! before the agreed date. Still, time was short. The meeting point information was conflicting: Porta Marina / Hotel Victoria. Upon arrival they informed us that our booking only includes the tour. That's how it started. We were also told later that our booking only includes the entrance tickets and audio guide. (For 40 euros) Then one phone call after another. Running back and forth between the two meeting points. Hundreds of people everywhere. We addressed at least 10 tour guides in the hope that he might. is ours. Until - after a phone call - we finally found Vittorio in the last few seconds. A better description of the meeting point would be an advantage. The tour guide could also hold a sign from the organizer naming the language. Would be less stress for everyone involved.

Pompeii... a must see when visiting this part of Italy we think!!! To see and experience a 2000 year old piece of history that is so well preserved is great. The tour in German was well organized. Our guide, an elderly lady, was in a great mood and told us in a funny and interesting way.
