Buenos Aires: History & Local Culture Bike Tour

1. Buenos Aires: History & Local Culture Bike Tour

In a group of no more than 6 people and the expertise of a local guide, get to know the lively city of Buenon Aires by bike. From the convenient meeting point, travel the urban terrain on a bike with gears and suspension for a comfortable ride. Take in the best historical sights and most notable areas of the sprawling city. The tour will visit the Plaza de Mayo, the most important historical site in Buenos Aries. From there venture onward to the newest area in the city, Puerto Madero. Cycle down to the old riverside at Costanera Sur and stop by La Boca where old traditions are very much alive. See the Boca Juniors Soccer Stadium, the open-door Calle Museo Caminito museum, and the beautiful grounds of Lezama Park.   Along the way, there will be time to experience a traditional mate tasting. Enjoy the national drink of Argentina — an infused caffeine drink originating from South America — in the company of locals. Spend around 30 minutes talking about the mate tradition and other topics, of course. This is an important part of social culture in Argentina, so feel free to ask questions and the friendly guide will share their local point of view. There is an additional option to enjoy a delicious sandwich at a traditional food truck and where you can feel like a real "porteño".

Carlos shared not only his beautiful city, which has wonderful bike trails and level terrain, which made for an enjoyable way to explore the city for anyone who can ride a bike but also shared himself. He gave us a personalized lesson in how he enjoys Mate, lunched with at street food vendor whom he visited for years and provided history, stories of his city and her people. This wa a private tour which made it even more special and he a busted the sites visited to best suit our personal interest. I encourage you not to miss this tour.

Unforgettable experience! Special needs and physical limitations were taken into account. All in all a very feasible, very informative, comfortable bike tour along historically relevant sights. The guide's immense knowledge of the city's history makes the tour extremely interesting and exciting. A final exchange about politics and the country with mate drink in the park rounds off the tour wonderfully. The time flew by.

Great day with lots of good info and enough breaks to avoid over heating. Carlos knew everything about the city, its history and current state of affairs. All of my BA and Argentina questions were answered with accuracy and respect. I love to support small business owners around the world and would book again in a heart beat! This is the perfect way to see BA.

We had an AMAZING experience with Carlos as our guide. He showed us the best parts of Buenos Aires on bike and also suggested some amazing areas to go back and visit. If you’re on the fence, it’s worth every minute.

Very informative tour. Great guide. However, you should be used to cycling in the big city.
